Our Vision - 
We are proud to organise this event to nurture the spirit of science in the minds of the youth of 
today and great scientists of tomorrow. We believe that the science of today is the technology of 
tomorrow. Scientists have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest for 
knowledge. Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. So now is the time to 
understand more, learn more and create more. With this spirit in mind, we enthusiastically invite 
you to participate in this journey to reframe the future. 
 

General Instructions - 
❏ The host school will be a non-participating team. 
❏ The schools can register for the event by filling out the registration form at 
bit.ly/EurekaRKP​ latest by July LL, 2019. 
❏ Once registered, the links for the online preliminary rounds of certain events along with 
details will be available on our website on July ZZ, 2019. 
❏ Unlimited entries per school is allowed for the online preliminary round but a maximum 
of one team per school will be shortlisted for the rounds to be held at the host school. 
❏ Teams and participants selected in the preliminary rounds cannot be changed. 
❏ Schools are free to select students to participate in the other events. 
❏ Please ensure that there is at least one teacher accompanying the students. 
❏ Schools must report at the school reception latest by 9:00 AM on August XX, 2019 along 
with their the participating teams and the teacher incharges. 
❏ In case of any change in participants, please inform the host school at least a day in 
advance. 
❏ Any team found using any unfair means will be immediately disqualified. 
❏ Decision of the judges will be final and binding. 
❏ The winning teams will have to be present during the prize distribution ceremony to 
receive their prizes. 
❏ In case of any queries, please feel free to contact us at ​physoc@dpsrkp.net​ or contact the 
respective event incharges for queries regarding specific events. 
 

 
  
 

List of Events-  
★Les Quizerables 
○ Class: ​9-12 
○ Number of Participants per team: 2 
○ The preliminary rounds will be held online on the link which will be available on 
our website on July ZZ, 2019. 
○ T​ he online preliminary rounds will consist of a short quiz based on topics of 
general physics, astronomy, electronics, mechanics, everyday applications of 
physics etc. 
○ Teams satisfying the cutoff criteria will be selected to appear for the next round 
which will be held at the host school on August XX, 2019. 
○ The second round will be a quiz round based on the aforementioned topics 
○ Only six teams will be selected for the final rapid fire round. 
○ Use of mobile phones, laptops, tablets etc. is strictly prohibited. 
○ The team with the highest score in the final round will be the winner of the 
competition.

★Surprise Event 
○ Class: ​9-12 
○ Number of participants: ​4 
○ Schools are free to choose a maximum of three students to participate in this 
event. 
○ The details about the event will be divulged to the participants on the spot.  
○ The event will be based on basic knowledge of participants pertaining to basic 
application of physics’ concepts. 
○ Use of phones, laptops, tablets etc. is strictly prohibited.

★Circuitron 
○ Class: ​9-12 
○ Number of participants per team: ​2 
○ The preliminary rounds will be held online on the link which will be available on 
our website on July ZZ, 2019. 
○ The preliminary round will be an MCQ test based on semiconductors, Arduino, 
Integrated Circuits and breadboard skills. 
○ The six highest scoring teams will be selected for the next round. 
○ The next rounds will be held at the host school on August XX, 2019. 
○ ROUND 1:​ ​CREATION 
■ The teams will have to make a circuit fulfilling the purpose provided to 
them. Only two attempts will be provided to test the circuit using power 
source.  
■ The teams will be judged on the basis of the time taken and the practical 
efficiency of the circuit. Only four teams will qualify for the next round.  
○ ROUND 2:​ ​DEBUGGING 
■ The teams will have to debug a given circuit on a breadboard.  
■ All required information about special components (if any) will be 
provided. No additional components will be given and any damage to 
the components will lead to disqualification.  
■ The teams will be judged on the basis of the time taken and a viva based 
on the circuit.

★SOUP: Society of Undergraduate Physicists 


○ Class:​ 9-12 
○ Number of participants per team: ​3-5 
○ The schools are free to choose three to five members to participate in the event. 
○ The goal is to spread reliable knowledge about exotic streams of physics and 
eliminate common misconceptions.  
○ ROUND 1: OPEN DISCUSSION 
■ The teams will be divided in groups of 10 students.   
■ The groups will be given multiple topics to discuss and spread 
knowledge about topics like astrophysics and particle physics each being 
given a chance to speak and voice their views.   
■ Members of a team within a group can press the buzzer for a turn to 
speak. Each member will be given a maximum of 90 seconds to speak at 
a time. 
■ Involvement of each member is necessary. 
■ The round will last for a maximum of two hours. 
○ ROUND 2: DEBATE 
■ The teams will be divided in groups of 10 students. 
■ The participants will be given controversial topics related to such exotic 
streams of physics. 
■ Members of a team within a group can choose to speak for or against the 
motion assigned by the judges. 
■ Each participant will be given 90 seconds to present their views. 
■ The teams will be judged on the basis of their participation and the 
correctness of the arguments put forward by them.  
○ At the end of the rounds, the cumulative score of the teams will be considered 
to decide the ranking.  
○ The team with the highest cumulative score in both rounds will win the 
competition.

★Scavenger Hunt 
○ Class: ​6-12 
○ Number of participants per team: ​3-5   
○ We invite you to venture into the world of codes and treasures brought forth by 
the unparalleled power of physics for unravelling intriguing mysteries.  
○ The participants will be subjected to two rounds consisting of a series of mind 
boggling puzzles, crazy mysteries and fun tasks which will ultimately lead them 
to the final prize. 
○ The first team to reach the final prize will win the competition. 
○ Use of mobile phones, laptops etc. is strictly prohibited.
