Design brief
A city situated on a sea coast with ridges on the north eastern side and a white sand
beach in the eastern direction is a tourist hotspot. There is a large forest covering the
north and north western side of the city. The city has a population of 10 lakhs and
people across the world are buying Beach houses in the city. The rapid increase in the
city population and being on the world map the authorities have taken out a design
competition for the following public buildings:
 Civil Court
 Town Hall
 Art Gallery
 Museum
 Inter State Bus Terminal
 Domestic Airport
 Sky walk in the forest with attached hotel facility and a zoological park.
As a student of B.Arch 4th Year and based on your previous experience in these
projects, you are supposed to design any one of the above projects. You can also
design a beach house for a millionaire in the city on a suitable site.The scope of work
involves the following:
1. Selection of an ideal site for the project.
2. Literature study and virtual Case studies
3. Frame design requirements and get approval from the client.
4. Design the floor plans
5. Suitable Elevations
6. Critical Sections
7. Views
8. Walkthroughs
