Since the virus has picked up the steam, this global pandemic continues to spread.

It
has caused a depredation of the fashion industry and has taken a heavy toll on the
fashion events and trade fairs, and hence have bought humongous losses to the
global fashion business. Since, Italy is among the worst hit countries it has wrecked
the fashion capital of the world, Milan as uncountable fashion shows, trade fairs,
luxury brand stores and malls remains deserted. Milan Fashion Week capped off
with an unusual site: Giorgio Armani presented his annual runway show, but to a
totally empty theatre. Such uncanny events have been experienced for the first time
by fashion industry. The virus has now caused many design houses to cancel or
postpone their international resort 2021 shows, including Gucci, Hermès, Max Mara,
Prada and Versace. A number of fashion shows for fall of 2020 of brands like Agnès
B, A.P.C, Burberry, Cartier, Chanel and Everlane either remains cancelled or have
halted their shows as a precautionary measure from COVID19. Major events like Met
Gala, BeautyCon, 2020 Cannes film festival which are a pioneer for the display of
fashion events and garments remains cancelled.
Since both catwalk shows and trade fairs remains likely to be cut-off, organizers
have planned to compensate for it by deploying a robust communication program
especially aimed at engaging its customers on the social media. Hence, through the
cancellations of the events as a precautionary measure and for safeguarding both
sides of the people involved in the fashion business, it has surely done its bit to what
would make world a better place to live and strive in.
