The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) in vites ‘Online applications’ for
the posts of Temporary Assistant Professors and various other Teaching posts in
different Departments of Faculties/Colleges/Institutions that are to be filled for

The posts of Temporary Assistant Professors and various other Teaching posts in different
Departments of Faculties / Colleges / Institutions of this University are to be filled up purely on
Temporary basis in various Faculties / Colleges / Institutions for Academic year 2019-2020.

The desirous candidates should note following points:

Important Points:

(i) The candidate shall be required to apply online on or before 14/7/2019 till 6.00
p.m. at: http://cc.msubaroda.ac.in/msubrecruitment/

(ii) The hard copy of the system generated form, along with required enclosures and
supporting relevant documents need to be submitted by the applicant to the office
of the concerned “Dean” of the Faculties (OR) Principals of the Colleges (OR) Heads
of Institutions, at the time of Personal interview if the candidate is called for the
personal interview.

(iii) Candidates applying for the post of Temporary Assistant Professor / Temporary
Lecturer on fixed consolidated pay of Rs.25000/- per month, must fulfill the
stipulated eligibility criteria as specified in UGC Regulations vide Notification F.1-
2/2017 (EC/PS) dated 18th July, 2018 and AICTE Notification No. 37-3/legal/2010
dated 5/3/2010 and amendments therein if any, for the post of Assistant
Professor/Lecturer or equivalent positions.

(iv) In the absence of availability of required number of eligible candidates (not


fulfilling the eligibility criteria as specified in para (iii) as above thereafter, if any of
the post is lying vacant because of non-availability of suitable candidate after
conducting personal interview of each of the eligible candidates, then only the
University may consider to appoint a Temporary Teaching Assistant on a fixed
consolidated pay of Rs.22,000/- per month and personal interview of such
candidates shall be conducted subsequently by the University. Such Temporary
Teaching Assistant must possess minimum of one academic year of continuous
teaching experience or Research or one year of Industry/ Professional experience.

(v) The candidate shall be required to fulfill minimum educational qualifications and
experience for the appointment of Temporary Assistant Professors and various other
Teaching posts in different Departments of Faculties / Colleges /Institutions of this
University as on the last date for submission of online application that is 14/7//2019
till 6.00p.m.

(vi) The online application form fee is fixed as of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 125 for SC/ST
Candidates) that shall require to be paid online only. This amount shall not be
accepted in cash, money order, demand draft and postal order or through any other
financial instrument except online payment. The aforesaid application fee is non-
refundable and no enquiries will be entertained in this regard by the University.

(vii) The University reserves the right to postpone or not to fill up any of teaching or
equivalent Posts at their discretion depending upon the requirement of the
University at that point of time as the case may be.

(viii) The decision of the competent authority shall be final.

(ix) The last date for submission of online application is fixed as 14/07/2019 till 6.00 p.m.

(x) The candidates shall be required to appear in the personal interview at his/her own
expenses.
(xi) The candidate shall be required to submit only one application online in a ‘Subject’
as mentioned under each Faculty/College and she or he shall not be required to
submit multiple applications in that particular Faculty/College for which the
University has notified teaching Posts considering Department/College and also
Academic Programme (In case of Higher Payment Basis (Self-financed)).

(xii) The candidate if desirous to submit application under different subjects in case of
more than one Faculty/College/Institution, in such cases he or she shall be required
to submit application separately.

(xiii) Those Candidates who have earlier applied for Temporary Assistant Professor and
various other Teaching Posts in response to Notification No.ADE9/26/2019-2020
dated 2-3-2019 are not required to apply again.

Minimum Educational Qualifications for the Appointment of Temporary Assistant
Professors in Different Faculties and Institutions
General Norms for Faculties/ Institutions Subjects that are Governed by UGC Regulations
and amendments therein:
1. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master’s level for the
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes / Differently abled (Physically and Visually
differently abled) / Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy layer) categories for
the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic records during different
recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent
grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to
the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks
without including any grace mark procedures.
2. Consistently “Good Academic Record” would mean at least 50 % marks in Bachelor’s
degree besides at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever
grading system is followed at Master’s Level in the relevant subject.

3. Those candidates who appeared in final year master degree shall be considered eligible for
the purpose requirement selection procedure and their candidature shall befinally
consideredfor the appointment, subject to fulfilment of various other terms and conditions
of eligibility criteria, minimum qualification required except teaching/reduces experience
of one year.

I (4.1):Faculty of Science, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Work, Family & Community
Science, Shri

i) Assistant Professor :
Eligibility (A or B):
A.
i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale
wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject
from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign
university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the
National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar
test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a
Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum
Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or
2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from
NET/SLET/SET :

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11,
2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-
law/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates
shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and
appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in
Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following
conditions: -

a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of
which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in
conference/seminars sponsored /funded/supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or any
similar agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean


(Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for
which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC,
like SLET/SET.
OR
B. The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among
top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i)
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic
Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Note: The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, and Appendix II
(Table 3B) for Colleges, shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only,
and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview (Copy attached).

II (4.2): FACULTY OF PERFORMING ARTS:


MUSIC AND DANCE DISCIPLINE:
(Pl. Refer 4.2 of UGC Notification F.1-2/2017 (EC/PS) dated 18th July, 2018.)
I. Assistant Professor:
Eligibility (A or B):
A.
i) Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed) in the relevant subject or an equivalent
degree from an Indian/foreign University.
ii) Beside fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the
National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D.
Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum
Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or
2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be.

Provided further, candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11,
2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-
laws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and such Ph.D.

Dean (Academic Affair) of the University concerned.

Note 2: The clearance of NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters
Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR
or similar test accredited by the UGC (like SLET/SET).

OR
B. A traditional or a professional artist with highly commendable professional
achievement in the subject concerned having a Bachelor’s degree, who has:

i) Studied under a noted/reputed traditional Master(s)/Artist(s)


ii) Has been ‘A’ grade artist or AIR/Doordarshan;
iii) Has the ability to explain, with logical reasoning the subject concerned; and
iv) Has adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in the discipline
concerned.

IV (4.2.): FACULTY OF FINE (VISUAL ARTS):

(Pl. Refer 4.2 of UGC Notification F.1-2/2017 (EC/PS) dated 18th July, 2018.)

I. Assistant Professor:
Eligibility (A or B):
A.
i) Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed) in the relevant subject or an equivalent
degree from an Indian/foreign University.
ii) Beside fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the
National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D.
Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum

Minimum Educational Qualifications for the Appointment of Temporary Assistant


Professors in Different Faculties and Institutions

General Norms for Faculties/ Institutions Subjects that are Governed by AICTE
Regulations and amendments therein:

1. Consistently “Good Academic Record”in Engineering and Technology would mean, at


least First Class (60% marks) or equivalent either in Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or
Master’s degree (M.E.. / M.Tech) and at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point
scale wherever grading system is followed at either Master’s degree in Engineering
/Technology, or at Bachelor’s level where First Class is not obtained by the candidate.

2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master's level for the Scheduled
Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently abled (Physically and visually differently abled)
categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during
direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation
of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying
marks without including any grace mark procedures.

3. If a class / division is not awarded, minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be


considered equivalent to first class / division. If a grade Point System is adopted the CGPA
will be converted into equivalent marks as below.

4. Two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/ recognized by AICTE / UGC shall
be treated equivalent to master’s degree in Management / Administration.

II: FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING:


(A) Technology & Engineering subjects (other than for MCA & Architecture)

B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M. Tech.

(D) FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING (For Humanities and Science
Subjects):

i. Master’s degree in relevant subject of Humanities & Sciences with first class or
equivalent, at Bachelor’s or Master’s Level from any recognized Indian University.

ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the
UGC like SLET/SET.

iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this clause, a
candidates, who has a Ph.D. Degree awarded before 2009, or has been awarded a Ph.D.
Degree after 2009 in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum
Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be
exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET
for recruitment and appointment as Assistant Professor in Technical Institutions.
