Dear respective authorities,

I am Farah Yaseen , I am expected to graduate on 21/June/2019, I am greatly interested

in biology specifically epigentics . I have to say that my passion in epigentics wasn’t born
in a moment rather than that it was a whole journey to go through; you don’t just wake
up in the morning deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life!

My background in pharmacy gives me good understanding of genetics; how to apply this

science into clinical value, pharmacy is a multi – disciplinary field of science which can
converge with different scientific fields to create the most innovative applied research!

In addition to my background in pharmacy I enrolled a neuroscience online course,

that’s when my interests started developing. My knowledge regarding scientific
research was greatly shaped by attending both phi research and innovation summit in
2017 and 2018 but the milestone in my research education was participation in phi
applied research project (PAIR): the project involved many rich topics starting from
writing proposals, literature review, getting funds, presenting, publishing, problem
solving and even entrepreneurship. Also, I got the opportunity to work on a project of
my interest; Evaluation of pharmacokineticly variable dosage forms of antiepileptic
drugs in fasting individuals, it was a rich experience although we didn’t publish.

When I found my passion I did my best to join any conducting research related to my
field of interest. I was able to work in a project regarding neurotoxicity of Paracetamol
as a part of master student’s thesis. This experience was significant as I learned
dissection, animal handling, and rat brain anatomy.

Nowadays, I have become the first undergraduate to have a training in the

biotechnology lab at Al -Zaytoonah University as this lab is highly restricted due to
financial and protective issues.

I am planning to do my research in the epigenetic mode of neuralplasticity and to apply

it as a pharmacological target , the program of biochemistry provided by METU will give
me the suitable knowledge, both compulsory and voluntary courses are great addition
to help me form the thesis and analyze my data which makes me and the program a
great fit!

Turkey is a leading country in scientific research; I can’t feel but increasing admiration
for the country leading their own research projects. I appreciate the opportunities
turkey gives for those in need both students and refugee I will always respect such
humane action from the country! I view turkey a sweet, amazing combination of cultural
heritage and modern life - which is in my opinion – very special and precious I take my
acceptance at the prestigious scholarship as a milestone in my future career and I hope
I will have the opportunity to work with the as thriving as driven people of Turkey.

Farah Yaseen
