1. FAMILY LIFE CYCLE

Family launching Young Adults

Family with Adolescents

CM and AP’s family consists of three children. The eldest, Mario is already married
with one child and living separately. The family in this stage must adjust to the fact
that the eldest child has left home to build his own family. CM and AP must build
good adult relationship with their child through accepting new family members
gained through their child’s relationship. In this case, Lina and their male grandchild.

The remaining children, Baby Lin and Lito are in their late adolescence. They are in
the stage where they start to have their own beliefs and experiment with different
things. They question a lot of things about their surroundings and challenges
authority. These could cause potential conflict within the family. CM and AP must
allow their children to be independent and explore, but at the same time, set
boundaries that will guide them.

Lastly, CM and AP should also make their health their priority at this stage. They
should also re-focus on the status of their marital relationship, as well as, their own
personal development which has been difficult to focus on while raising their
children.
