Super Safari Letter To Parents L2 U1
In our English class, we’re now starting Unit 1 of Super Safari. The topic of the unit is
My school. We’re learning about classroom objects, following classroom instructions
and developing social skills. Your child is continuing to learn English through songs,
chants, stories, games and listening and speaking activities.
To name classroom objects: board, paper, computer, desk, crayon, pencil case
To refer to his/her possessions: This is my (crayon).
To join in with a chant
To follow classroom instructions: Open your book. Pick up your (crayon). Draw a
picture.
To join in with a song about classroom possessions
To listen to and follow a picture story
To appreciate the values shown in the story and to say Well done. You’re the
best!
To name different actions: jump, climb, run, kick
To reflect on his/her learning
- Listen to the unit song and chant with your child. These are available to download on
the website.
- Use objects at home to practise key words from the unit: paper, computer, desk,
crayon, pencil case. Encourage your child to name the objects by asking What’s this?
He/She says, for example, This is my desk.
- Give your child simple instructions to follow using language he/she has learnt in class:
Open your book. Pick up your pencil case. Draw a picture.
