contacting me. This tool is a way to keep messages sorted by class and should be a better way to
communicate than email. Please use proper capitalization, spelling, grammar, etc. You should consider any
correspondence you have with me to be professional and conduct yourself accordingly. In the subject of your
Canvas Inbox message please make it clear what your message is about, such as a specific chapter, quiz, or
assignment.
If you must email me:
 Use this email address: pannunziot@ewcmail.wy.edu
 Use this format in the subject line of your email: The course number and the topic of your
message (example: PSYC 1000-01 Chapter 1 Quiz)

ATTENDANCE/WITHDRAWAL POLICY:
Please review the Attendance and Withdrawal Policies found in the Eastern Wyoming College 2020
Catalog. Students are expected to attend all sessions of each course in which they are enrolled. Attendance
and active participation in all scheduled learning activities is essential for successful completion of this
course.
EWC instructors may withdraw a student from a course if a) the student is absent for more than 20%
of the scheduled sessions of a course, b) the student has been absent for 6 consecutive class hours of a
course, or c) the student has not completed 20% of the assigned learning activities. However, this instructor
will not withdraw students from this course. It is the student’s responsibility to withdraw if they choose to do
so. Students may choose to withdraw from this course with a grade of “W” prior to 4 p.m. on April 24, 2020.
Please review the withdrawal policy found in the EWC 2019-2020 Catalog for further information.
Attendance will be recorded daily at the beginning of class. If you arrive late to class, it is your
responsibility to speak to the instructor after class to ensure your attendance is recorded. Habitual tardiness
will not be tolerated.
If a student is absent, it is that student’s responsibility to find out what was missed. Contact the
instructor, a classmate, or look on Canvas to determine if any assignments were given during the missed
class. If you miss class when an assignment is given or when an assignment is due, the due date for that
assignment still applies to you. Please do not ask the instructor for copies of the Power Point slides. Those
slides should not be considered a substitute for attending class. If you miss class, ask a classmate for a copy
of their notes.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

institution at all times. This includes attending all scheduled class meetings, arriving to class on time and
prepared to participate, completing all reading and class assignments, and actively participating in classroom
discussion. Students are expected to be actively engaged in class. This means no sleeping, visiting with
classmates, using cell phones, working on other tasks, or otherwise not paying attention. Active participation
involves listening to the instructor and fellow classmates, taking notes, asking and answering questions, and
participating in group and class discussions.
Students must attend class meetings regularly and read all assigned materials in order to be
successful. Lecture material and discussions are intended to supplement, not replace, textbook material. It is
your responsibility to read assignments in advance and ask questions when needed.
Use of Tobacco: Chewing tobacco will not be allowed while attending this class.
Cell Phones and other electronic devices: The use of cell phones and other electronic devices
during class, is not allowed for ANY reason without prior approval from the instructor. Students who choose
to distract others with this behavior may be asked to leave the classroom. The instructor also reserves the
right to have the device turned off and to confiscate the device for the remainder of the class period. The

2
instructor reserves the right to withdraw a student from this course in the event of multiple (more than two)
violations.
***Please turn off all cell phone ringers, message alerts, etc. prior to coming to class.***

Course material will be delivered and assessed by various means including lecture, reading
assignments, in-class activities, homework assignments, written papers, and tests. It is expected that each
assigned task be completed within the designated timeframe. If you cannot meet an assigned due date, you
must contact the instructor before the due date to seek an extension. If you miss a due date, please contact the
instructor. Please note that no individual extra credit will be awarded. However, extra credit may be offered
on tests or through other means available to the entire class.

Thursday by 5:00PM, with the exception of one week, when it is due on Tuesday. Please refer to the Course
Schedule and Reading Guide for reading assignments and due dates. Quizzes are to be completed
individually, but you may use your book and notes. If you have technical difficulties, it is your responsibility
to contact the instructor and make proper arrangements prior to the due date. There are a total of 15 quizzes
worth 10 points each. Only 14 quiz scores will be used in calculating grades. This means that your lowest
quiz score will be dropped at the end of the semester after the due date for the last quiz.

There will be 3 tests given during the semester. Each test will be worth 100 points. If you are going
to miss a test, it is your responsibility to contact the instructor before the test and make arrangements to take
the test at another time (see note below about missed tests.)
The 3rd test will be given on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 10:00AM, which is the scheduled time for the
final (although the test is not a cumulative final). In accordance with EWC policy, no final exams will be
rescheduled to accommodate travel arrangements.
You must arrive on time on test days. Late arrivals may result in a change to your test score at the
instructor’s discretion.
Missed tests: If you know ahead of time that you absolutely must miss a test, you must make
arrangements with the instructor prior to the scheduled testing time. If you have not made arrangements with
the instructor prior to the scheduled testing time, you might not get a chance to take the test.
