Hello,

I’m writing to express my interest in the Route Sales Person position posted on your
website. I’ve just left the Peace Corps where I served as a youth development
volunteer in the Dominican Republic. It was my job to find out what the young people
of my community needed, and then to help them get it. There was no roadmap to this
work. The people whom I served were the only ones who understood both the
problems they were facing and the necessary solutions to these problems. What I
brought to the table was enthusiasm, a willingness to help, and the reminder of the
possibility that certain, seemingly intractable, problems could be solved.

I have experience as a sales person here in Pennsylvania with Green Mountain Energy.
I sold renewable energy plans at concerts, fairs, and other events. During my time at
Green Mountain, I was a top 5 agent. I know how to quickly build trust, entice
customers, and close deals.

As you may already know, on March 16th the Peace Corps recently suspended its
operations globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This being the case, myself as well
as my former colleagues find ourselves in a bind as we scramble to find work as
meaningful as what we left behind. I believe that my experience empowering youth,
my advanced level of Spanish, and the enthusiasm I carry make me a candidate well
