Teaching Process/Suggested Activities: This song is included to give the students practice in keeping a beat.
Do the actions that the song suggests. Later, substitute instruments for the body percussion. For example:
1. Put the beat in the drum and play the sound...
2. Put the beat in the sticks and play the sound...
3. Put the beat on tambourines and play the sound...
4. Put the beat in shakers and play the sound...

* Have the children tap the beat on the beat chart that is given on page xi of the introductory pages to the guide.
* Create a body percussion pattern to perform with the numbers in the poem. Use stamp, pat, clap and snap.
