Neutral point~

A point at which the magnetic field induction B due/to

a bar magnet is nullified by the horizontal component
of the earth's magnetic field induction(Bo)is caMed aneutral point.
The earth is a huge magnet.At every point/on the
earth,its magnetic field has a certain valye for its
horizontal component,represented by Bo.It remains
constant,both in magnitude as well as in direction,at agiven place.The direction
ofthe horizontal componentof the earth's magnetic field is along the magnetic
meridian from the geographicar south to the
geographical north.
The magnetic field lines/around a bar magnet can be
mapped with the help/of a magnetic compass.The
magnetic field lines/due to a bar magnet are closed
loops.They leave at the north pole and enterat the
south pole.When you plot the magnetic field lines
around a barmagnet,the horizontal component of theearth's maghetic
field,Bo,influences the magnetic feldinduction,B,due to the bar magnet.At points
close tothe bar magnet,magnetic induction B due to the barJnagnet is very high as
compared to the horizontal
