FACULTY OF ENGINEERING & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING (ME)

• Distribution of marks:
– 10% Class Activity and discussion.
– 20% LAB, Homework and Quizzes
– 25% Midterm Exam.
– 45% Final Exam. ITME4339 / Computer Aided
• Objectives of this course: Engineering (CAE)
Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) is one of the strongest growing fields within
engineering and underpins design and analysis in all engineering disciplines. (CAE)
Virtual prototyping, based on the numerical analysis and simulation of structures,
types of fluid flow problems encountered in practice, acoustics and many other ‫الھندسة بمساعدة الحاسوب‬
disciplines, has become absolutely central to the industrial design and analysis
process, mechanical properties and deformation, design alterations based on
simulated results. Usage of computer software to aid 2in engineering analysis tasks, 1
Finite Element analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and optimization.
CAE tools are being used, for example, to analyze the robustness and performance of
components and assemblies. The term encompasses simulation, validation, and
optimization of products and manufacturing tools.
