Essential Question
 How do species evolve over time?

Anticipatory Set
 This video will help the students get an introduction to evolution and it will help
the students understand the importance of the upcoming topic

Teaching: Activities
 Bell work
o Pre-Assessment:

 This five-question quiz will help determine different groups that I
will place the students in for the projects that will be followed up.
 While the video is playing, I will select the different groups by the
answers of their pre-assessment test

 Introduction of project
o The groups where determined from their pre-assessment; each group will
have an above target, on target, and below target student placed in each.
o There is four groups, the lions, zebras, lizards, and elephants. When they
receive their pre-assessment back, which I will return during the video,
they will have written on each what group they are in.
o Each group will have to pick two assignments from the following choices
station.

Closure
 I will announce there is five minutes left of class and they must turn in one of the
two project they were working on in the class period. I will also announce that the
second one is due the following class period.

Assessment

 There will be a final assessment about evolution. For example, some questions
will be “What is the main definition of evolutions”, “Name two traits that you can
visible see, and two traits that are invisible”.

Introduction of Project/ Put students in groups – 10 minutes
Project work – 55 minutes
Closing – 5 minutes
