Blackie’s Bulldog Tavern in Smithfield Hosts Local ProStart Students for

Mentoring Session Prior to National ProStart Invitational in Washington D.C.
Winning Teams from February’s Rhode Island ProStart Competition are invited

What: On Friday, March 29, Angie Armenise and Jeanine Iannucci, co-owners of Blackie’s
Bulldog Tavern in Smithfield, will host the first place winners of February’s Rhode Island
ProStart Competition for a mentoring session prior to their appearances at the National
ProStart Invitational in Washington D.C. from May 8 through May 10.

Four students from William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School and five
students from the East Providence Career & Technical Center will have the special
opportunity to be coached by Blackie’s Bulldog Tavern’s co-owners, Chef Angie and
General Manager Jeanine, in an effort to identify areas where the students can improve
ahead of the National ProStart Invitational. Both schools earned this distinct honor by
winning first place of the culinary arts and the food service management portions of the
statewide competition respectively.
