A reminder that this week, you are working on creating your own
commercial for a product of your choice, or a product that you invent.
You will prepare and practice your commercial and then record it on
video. The final version of your commercial will be submitted this
Friday, April 24th. This commercial will be assessed and the grade will
be recorded on your Term 2 Report Card. You will be assessed on your
ability to successfully use one of the persuasive advertising techniques
that you have learned about:
Activity
Review the success criteria for the commercial listed above. Make sure
you have written down what you plan to say in your commercial,
making sure you included all the important information. Then, continue
to practice your commercial.
Today, you will complete an assessment on the life of early First Nation
and settler communities in Canada between 1780 and 1850. This
assessment will be graded and recorded on your Term 2 Report Card.
Students, please make sure that you complete this assessment
independently. This means you cannot ask a parent or guardian to help
you to answer the questions. Every student must complete the work on
his or her own or the assessment will not be graded. Also, you are not
allowed to use your notes for this activity. Cheating is wrong and not
acceptable.
Activity
Today, I would like you to practice finding the area of different surfaces
in square units. Please log into your student account on Seesaw and
complete the “Comparing Area and Perimeter” activity that has been
assigned to you. You will need to click on the “Activities” tab (look for
the lightbulb icon) and then tap +Add Response to complete the
activity.
Science
We know that plants are important to all living things. Plants release
oxygen through the process of photosynthesis, which we use to
breathe. They also absorb energy from the sun which is then
transferred to living things when plants are consumed as food.
Today you will use your thinking skills to answer the question: How are
plants important to different people?
Activity:
First, read the descriptions of people below and for each one, think
about how plants are important to them. You should also think about
how they would be affected if they didn’t have plants.
Then, log in to your Seesaw account and complete the “How are Plants
Important to Different People?” activity that has been assigned to you.
You will need to click on the “Activities” tab (look for the lightbulb icon)
and then tap +Add Response to complete the activity. You will need to
choose one of the people described in the list above and explain how
plants are important to them.
