Introduction and Scheme of Examination
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has established National
Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization under Society
Registration Act 1860 for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the
competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions.
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has entrusted the responsibility to the NTA from 2020 onwards for
conducting MBA (International Business) a six-trimester general management programme with a focus on
International Business for developing competent cadre of business executives to meet the country’s growing
requirements for trained personnel in the field of International Business Management.

Admission Criteria Recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline with minimum 50%
marks [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with
Disability (PWD) categories]. There is no age limit for applying for this examination.

Objective IIFT MBA (IB) – 2020


The IIFT MBA(IB) aims at imparting professional education and training in modern management techniques for
handling international business operations in a highly dynamic and competitive environment. The specific
objectives of the Programme are:

• To familiarize the participants on the fundamental concepts of management


• To expose the participants to the challenges in the emerging competitive business environment in an
increasingly globalized world
• To relate the management concepts to business situations and help the participants to develop analytical
and decision skills so as to evolve effective national and international business strategy.
• To develop socially responsive managers for International business and help in shaping up their personality.
• To equip for career opportunities in International Business

The Programme aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important subject areas and
disciplines relevant to international business. Equal emphasis has been placed on the quantitative and analytical
approach to the study of International Business Management. It also attempts to provide comparative
perspectives in many facets of International Business by covering methods of doing business as well as trade and
business practices, procedures and documentation in other countries. Besides, effective use of computers and
modern information technology is made in pedagogy.

Mode and Medium of Examination


IIFT MBA(IB)-2020 will be conducted in English Medium in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only.

Eligibility:
(For General / Reserved Category Candidates)

• Recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline with minimum 50% marks
[45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with
Disability (PwD) categories]
• Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of
requisite qualification by 7th October 2020.

• There is no age limit for appearing in this examination.


Admission of any candidate who joins the programme on provisional basis but fails to obtain minimum percentage
in the Bachelor's degree examination will be automatically cancelled forthwith. Such candidates should
immediately inform the Institute on declaration of his/her results. Admission of candidates who do not inform the
Institute of such a situation will automatically stand cancelled on the 7th October 2020. No request for extension of
time for re-evaluation, etc. will be entertained.

For Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates

• Recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years' duration with minimum 50% marks.
• Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of
requisite qualification by 7th October 2020.
• In order to qualify as an international candidate for the purpose of applying to IIFT entrance exam, a
candidate should have been (expected to be) resident outside India for a period of not less than 18
months as on 31st December 2019 and be outside India during the IIFT examination window. The Indian
nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with application a certificate from the
Indian Embassy / High Commission /Consulate of the country where the candidate is currently based,
stating that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less than 18
months as on 31st December 2019.

• Foreign Nationals need to have a valid passport/travel document from a country other than India. The
Foreign Nationals who are present in India at the time of IIFT entrance test are required to take the same.
• The candidate should produce Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score which should be
received by the Institute latest by 15th February 2020. GMAT taken before 1st January 2018 is not valid.
• If the candidate has appeared for any MBA entrance examination for that year in India (2019) such as CAT
/XAT /IIFT, etc., he /she is not eligible to apply. Candidates are required to give the undertaking for the
same
• NRI-Sponsored candidates and Children of NRIs are not considered under this category.

Mode of Admission for Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates

• The admission of candidates under this category is on the basis of GMAT score and personal interview.
• Shortlisted candidate would be required to undergo a Personal Interview at IIFT campus. Candidates called
for this will have to make their own travel arrangements. In case they are not able to be physically present,
they would be interviewed through Skype.

Documents to be Submitted Along with Application Form

• Filled in CV Form.
• Copy of latest GMAT score certificate.
• Attested copy of all academic mark-sheets/certificates (Class X, XII & Graduation).
• Copy of all Passport pages having official entries.
• An undertaking that the candidate has not appeared for any MBA entrance examination for that year
(2019) such as CAT/XAT/IIFT, etc.
• Two letters of recommendation. Preferably, one of these should be written by a current supervisor or
manager. The second one should be from someone who is in a position to evaluate the applicant’s
professional performance as well as his / her managerial and leadership potential. No letter of
recommendation should be written by immediate family members, e.g. parents, grandparents, siblings
and spouse.
• The Indian nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with application a certificate
from the Indian Embassy / High Commission / Consulate of the country where the candidate is currently
based, stated that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less
than 18 months as on 31st December 2019.
Reservations
For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable in that particular institute. In case
of institutes run by Central Government,10% of the seats are reserved for Category General-Economically Weaker
Section(GEN-EWS), 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for the category
Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the “ Non Creamy layer” (OBC-
NCL). Each category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in The Rights of
Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016) quoted below.

“Other Backward Classes - Non Creamy Layer (OBC–NCL) are as per the Central list of Other Backward Classes
available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website www.ncbc.nic.in
Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column. State list OBC Candidates who
are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General.
Section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016 states the following:
Persons with benchmark disabilities (PwD) means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified
disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability
where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority.
“Specified Disability” means the disabilities as specified in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.The categories of
disabilities are:
(i) Blindness and low vision
(ii) Deaf and hard of hearing
(iii) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and
muscular dystrophy
(iv) Autism, intellectual disability, specified learning disability and mental illness, and
(v) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (i) to (iv)
(vi) Other ‘specified disabilities’ mentioned in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.

Please refer to Office Memorandum issued by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment dated 29 August
2018 (F.No.34-02/2015-DD-III), guideline IV, second paragraph.
The facility of Scribe/Reader/Lab Assistant should be allowed to any person with benchmark disability as
defined under section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016 and has limitation in writing including that of speed if so
desired by him/her.
In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, Locomotor disability (both arm
affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of scribe/reader/lab assistant shall be given, if so desired by the
person.

In case of other category of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of scribe/reader/lab assistant can
be allowed on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write,
and scribe is essential to write examination on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon Medical
Superintendent of a Government health care institution as per performa at Appendix I.
The order further allows the candidate to opt for their own scribe/reader provided the qualification of the scribe
is one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination. The candidate with bench-mark
disabilities opting for their own scribe/reader should submit details of their own scribe as per performa at
Appendix II”
Twenty minutes per hour compensatory time for duration of examination will also be allowed to the candidates
who are availing the facility of scribe/reader/lab assistant.
The reservation policy, as announced by the government from time to time will be followed by the admitting
institutes. The candidates are advised to look for the details at the time of admission.

Important Note: No change in the category will be entertained after the last date of MBA (IB)-2020 application
form and no subsequent changes will be effective after declaration of MBA (IB) NTA Score 2020.

EXAMINATION PATTERN

2. Medium of Question Paper The medium of Examination will be in English.
3. Type of Questions/ Examination The Computer Based Online Test is multiple choice objective type (in English)
of 120 minutes. It generally consists of questions covering English Grammar,
Vocabulary and Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Logical
Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis.

Instructions for Filling Online Application Form
Candidates have to apply for IIFT MBA(IB)- 2020 “Online” ONLY by accessing the website
https://iift.nta.nic.in/webinfo/public/home.aspx The Application shall not be accepted in any other mode. Only
one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. Multiple application forms
submitted by a candidate will be rejected.
It is suggested that the Candidates have the following ready before starting the filling of the online application
form:
• A computer with good Internet connectivity
• All qualification details
• Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb–200 kb)
• Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb–30 kb)
• Scanned clear copy of certificates indicating Category and/or subcategory as applicable in JPG/JPEG
format (size between 50 kb–300 kb)
• A valid e-mail Id as all communication will be made on this e-mail Id
• A valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number
• A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account or PAYTM Service.
• A printer connected to the system to print confirmation page

• It is also suggested to download information Bulletin and read it carefully to ensure candidate’s
eligibility and acquaintance with the requirements for submission of Online Application Form.
• No correction can be made at a later stage after submission of an application. No change will be
accepted through fax/application including e-mail etc.

4 (Four) Steps to Apply Online for the candidates who are appearing on
01.12.2019 for IIFT MBA(IB) examination for the academic session–2020-22
Step-1: Register for Online Application Form and note down system generated Application Number. The
candidate should supply all the details while filling the Online Application Form and is also required to
create PASSWORD and choose Security Question and enter his/her Answer. After successful
submission of the personal details, Application number will be generated and it will be used to
complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future
correspondence. For subsequent logins, candidate will be able to login directly with the respective
system generated Application Number and created Password.
Step-2: Complete the Application Form Candidate can login with the system generated Application Number
and created Password for completing the Application Form.
Step-3: Upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph, Candidate’s Signature and Candidate’s Caste
Certificate if the Candidate is applying Under GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD Category.
(a) Scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format.
(b) Size of scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
(c) Size of scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
(d) Size of scanned Caste/Category Certificate should size between 50 kb–300 kb
(e) The recent photograph should be coloured or black/white (but clear contrast).
Note: Upload the correct Photograph, Signature and Caste/Category Certificate as the facility for correction in
images will not be given.
Step-4: Payment by Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/PAYTM/UPI Service: The candidate has to select Debit
card/Credit card/Net banking/PAYTM option to pay the application fee and follow the online
instruction to complete the payment of fee. After successful payment, candidate will be able to print
the Confirmation Page. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then
the transaction is cancelled and the candidates has to approach the concerned bank for refund of
amount. However the candidate has to make another transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is
not generated.
THESE STEPS CAN BE DONE TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY.
The candidates are required to check the status of fee payment at NTA website
(https://iift.nta.nic.in/webinfo/public/home.aspx) and if the status is ‘OK’, the candidate will be able to take the
printout of Confirmation Page. In case, the fee payment status is not ‘OK’ the candidates are advised as following:
• If the fee is paid through credit/debit card/Netbanking/PAYTM and status is not OK, it means the transaction is
cancelled and the amount will, automatically, be refunded to concerned credit/debit card.. Therefore, such
candidates will be required to pay the fee once again and ensure that the fee status OK.
Note:
(i) The final submission of online Application form will remain incomplete if all the steps are not completed.
Such forms will stand rejected and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.
(ii) No request for refund of fee once remitted by the candidate will be entertained
(iii) The entire application process of MBA (IB) –2020 is online, including uploading of scanned images, Payment
of Fees and Printing of Confirmation page. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any
document(s) including Confirmation page to NTA through Post/Fax/email/ By Hand.
(iv) Candidates are advised to keep visiting the NTA’s website regularly for latest updates and to check their
registered mobile for SMS/e-mails.
(v) The NTA can make use of the data generated for the purpose of research and analysis.
Important Note: No Correction shall be made after declaration of result by the NTA.
All the candidates who have submitted the online application and paid the examination fee till last date will be
allowed to appear in IIFT MBA(IB) –2020 and their admit cards will be uploaded on the website as per schedule.
The NTA verify neither the information filled by the candidates in the application form nor any certificate of
category/educational qualification for deciding the eligibility of candidates. The certificates of educational
qualification and category (if applied under reserved category) will be verified by the concerned institution. The
candidates are, therefore, advised to ensure their eligibility and the category (if applying under reserved category).
The NTA will, in no way, be responsible for any wrong/incorrect information furnished by the candidate(s) in their
online application form. The letter/e-mails in this regard will not be entertained by the NTA.

‘*Candidates are advised to report at the Examination Center well in time i.e. before 2 hours of commencement

Note: Candidates shall appear at their own cost at the Centre on Date and time as indicated in their Admit Card
issued by the NTA. Under no circumstances the choice of cities for centre and time provided in the Admit
Card shall be changed.

Cities/Towns of IIFT MBA (IB) –2020 Examination Centres


The Cities where the IIFT MBA (IB)-2020 will be conducted are given in Appendix-IV. While applying, candidates
have to select any four cities of their choice. The efforts will be made to allot city of examination to the
candidates in order of the choice opted by them in their application form. However, due to administrative
reasons, a different city may be allotted. Especially if a city has not been opted by a minimum number(say 200)
of candidates.

The decision of the NTA regarding allotment of City Centre shall be final. No further correspondence or request
shall be entertained in such case.

IIFT MBA (IB)-2020 NTA Score


After the MBA (IB)-2020 examinations, the NTA will display provisional Answer Keys & Question Paper attempted
by the candidate on the NTA’s website https://iift.nta.nic.in/webinfo/public/home.aspx The date shall be
displayed on the NTA’s website for the same.

The Candidates will be able to challenge of provisional answer keys, and this challenge will be accepted online only
through the link available on the website https://iift.nta.nic.in/webinfo/public/home.aspx on payment of a
processing fee of Rs.1000/- per question. The fee can be paid by credit/debit card/Net banking/ PAYTM/UPI
services. The fee once paid is non-refundable. The NTA’s decision on the challenges shall be final and no further
communication will be entertained.
The subject experts will examine all the challenges received and then a final answer key will be declared.

The result will be compiled on the basis of the final answer key declared. The decision of expert(s) w.r.t the
Answer Key(s) shall be final. No grievance with regard to answer key(s) after declaration of result of MBA (IB)-
2020 will be entertained and there shall be no revaluation.

Test Practice Centres


National Testing Agency (NTA) has established a network of Test Practice Centres spread all over India to help the
students familiarize themselves with CBT to be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. The students can
practice and train themselves before the examination for the “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode of examinations.

The experienced, qualified and professional Nodal officer and staff available at the TPC will help and motivate the
students to clear their doubts and solve problems and to make them familiar with the CBT mode of examinations.

Query Redressal System (QRS)


National Testing Agency (NTA) has established a Query Redressal System (QRS), an online web-enabled system
developed by NTA. QRS is the platform based on web technology which primarily aims to enable submission of
queries/grievances by the Registered Candidate(s) of IIFT MBA(IB)-2020 Examination with (24x7) facility for speedy
and favourable redressal of the queries/grievances. A Unique Registration Number will be generated for tracking
the status of the queries/grievances.

The Registered Candidate(s) are advised to use the online facility for speedy and favorable response before mailing
their queries on the email id if NTA

Code of Conduct for Candidates


Candidates shall maintain perfect silence and attend to their Question Paper only. Any conversation or gesture or
disturbance in the Examination Room/Hall shall be deemed as use of unfair means. If a candidate is found using
unfair means or impersonating, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and he/she will be liable to be debarred for
taking examination either permanently or for a specified period according to the nature of offence.
Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, and
Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, and bits of papers, mobile phone, pager
or any other device, except the Admit Card inside the Examination Room/Hall. If any candidate is in possession of
any of the above item, his/her candidature will be treated under unfair means and his/her current examination will
be cancelled & he/she will also be debarred for future examination(s) & the equipment will be seized. The decision
of NTA on unfair means will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
The Candidates, especially those who are carrying the barred items, including the metallic objects such as Kara and
Kirpan etc., should report their respective Examination Centers one and half hour before the gate closing time, for
ensuring timely checking/frisking and entry to the Examination Hall.
If upon screening at the Examination Centre, it is discovered that any candidate is actually carrying, within the
‘Kara’ and ‘Kirpan’, a suspect device, he/she may be asked not to take it in the Examination Hall (as directed by the
Hon’ble Delhi High Court vide its Order dated 03.05.2018). The decision of NTA on unfair means will be final and no
correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
Guidelines to Candidates for Computer Based Test
Candidates MUST bring the following documents on the day of examination at the test centre. Candidates who will
not bring these will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
➢ Print copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA’s website.
➢ One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) should be taken for
pasting on the specific space in the attendance sheet at Centre during the examination.
➢ Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired) – PAN card/ Driving
License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E-Aadhaar with photograph/ Ration
Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph/college/University ID.
➢ PwD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer, if claiming the relaxation under PwD
category
The candidates shall report at the Examination Centre two hours before the commencement of the examination so
as to complete the frisking and registration formalities well before the time. Registration desk will be closed 30
minutes prior to the examination.

Candidates shall not be permitted to enter in the Examination Hall/Room after 9:00 a.m. The candidates are
advised to read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the
examination.

The candidate must show, on demand, the Admit Card downloaded/printed from the NTA’s website and any of the
authorized photo IDs for entry in the examination room/hall. A candidate who does not possess the valid Admit
Card and authorized photo IDs shall not be permitted for the examination under any circumstances by the Centre
Superintendent.

A seat indicating roll number will be allocated to each candidate. Candidates should find and sit on their allocated
seat only. Any candidate found to have changed room/hall or the seat on his/her own other than allotted, his/her
candidature shall be cancelled and no plea would be accepted for it.

No candidate, without the special permission of the Centre Superintendent or the Invigilator concerned, will leave
his/her seat or Examination Room/Hall until the full duration of the paper is over. Candidates must follow the
instructions strictly as instructed by the Centre Superintendent/Invigilators. Candidates should not leave the
room/hall without handing over their rough sheets to the invigilator on duty in the Room/Hall.
For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of tests for any reason, the NTA shall not be
responsible for conduct of re-test, under any circumstances.
Weeding out Rules
The record of IIFT MBA (IB)-2020 Examination would be preserved upto 60 days from the date of declaration of
result.

Legal Jurisdiction
All disputes pertaining to the conduct of IIFT MBA (IB)-2020 Examination including Results shall fall within the
jurisdiction of Delhi only. The Senior Director (Admin) of the NTA shall be the official by whose designation the NTA
may sue or be sued.

Important Note:
The Data (Information) collected by the NTA through Online Application Form of IIFT MBA(IB)-2020 may be used
by the NTA / Government of India for specific type of research and survey. This information is not used by any
third party or private agency for any other use unless the Official Order given by Director General, NTA.

Letter of Undertaking for Using Own Scribe

After completing Step-3 of Online Application Form, candidates may remit the examination
fee (Step -4) by choosing the following options:
(i) Debit Card/ Credit card, Net Banking/UPI/ PAYTM:
▪ Check the validity of the Debit/ Credit Card and keep it ready with you while
logging on to website for submitting application form. Candidate should enter the
information asked for and make payment through Debit/ Credit Card.
▪ Through Net Banking, check the balance in your account and keep all credentials
ready with you while logging on to website for submitting application form.
Candidate should Login with his/her credentials of net banking and make payment
through Net Banking.
▪ Through UPI service
