Why/Why not?
Public education in my country is well developed as well as the teaching equipment and here is a lot
of teaching ways, professional teachers and schools which distinguishes by it‘s training level. You
will not get practical skills in every public education institution, becouse primary and secondary
schools teach theory when vocational schools and colleges mainly teach practical skills.
5. What could schools do better to facilitate learning?
To facilitate learning schools should do more intresting lessons in different environment. Becouse
classes monotony makes students lose motivation and they get less atracted to education.

Task 3. Watch the video and tick 6 problems with the schooling system that it mentions:

........ 1. Schools don’t teach how to be independent and don’t give students any control.
........ 2. Grading in the education system is based on wrong values.
........ 3. The value of education is decreasing as the system doesn’t give any real-life knowledge.
........ 4. The knowledge is passed passively as students just listen to teachers talking.
........ 5. The education system focuses on teaching students so they can pass tests and exams.
........ 6. Students are not encouraged to be original.
........ 7. The schooling system doesn’t give any opportunity to learn work skills.
........ 8. Schools don’t take into consideration that people learn differently.
........ 9. Modern education destroys creativity, personality and critical thinking.
........ 10. There’s too much technology used in the public schooling system.
........ 11.The school system teaches people to listen to instructions.

Task 4. Choose 3 issues which should be solved first to fix the education system. Justify your answer.

The value of education is decreasing as the system doesn’t give any real-life knowledge.
In my opinion it is the biggest problem in education system, becouse students learn things for nothing,
others say for general education which we forget becouse we don‘t see, feel or use the knowledge which we
learn. In my opinion in education should be teaching more real-life knowledge then students would be more
interested in education and have more motivation for it.
The education system focuses on teaching students so they can pass tests and exams.
Tests and exams are made from theory questions which need different knowledge for different subject and
then students must learn many things for different subject as a result they start to doubt themselves, becouse
they can not handle the amount of things they need to learn. I think that education system should be about
what makes people interested and tests and exams should be more abstract their questions should be
answered by thinking not by knowing.
The school system teaches people to listen to instructions.
I suspected that school system demands special requirements and have created criteries for students so they
don‘t have full freedom in creativity. Also listening to instructions make students dependent from school as
a result they feel under pressure.
