Habit 3: Put First Things

First

In this package, we will focus on Habit 3: Put First

Things First. Below you will find a list of 5 activities
for you to do with your family. You can choose to do as
many as you have time for.

At the bottom of the page, you will find links for story-
read alouds related to this week’s topic. You can view
these on any of your devices.

1. Make sure the kitchen is cleaned up before you leave to play after meals.
In fact, make sure every area you leave is clean before you go!

2. Write out a plan for your day – what are you giving the most time to?
Make time for fun and relaxation but also make sure there’s time for work to
be done.

3. Draw a picture of what it looks like to be hard at work and then what it
looks like to celebrating being done everything.

4. Try building a tower. What do you notice about a successful tower? It has
a strong base or bottom. That is like putting first things first. We are more
successful when we strengthen or practice the areas we use all the time or
are more important to our wellbeing.

5. Take a piece of paper and divide it into 4 shown below. Decide what kind
of activities fall into each square and write or draw them in.
Some ideas are: take the dog for a walk, practice piano, soccer practice, reading,
playing Minecraft, baking cookies, writing a letter to Grandma..
