1. Catherine the Great
Catherine was the Empress of Russia and she greatly increased her territory of the
empire. Her goal was to rationalize and reform the administration of the Russian Empire.
She waged two successful wars against the Ottoman Empire and extended the borders of
Russia. She was one of the longest ruling female leaders in Russia. She came to rule after
the assassination of her husband Peter, who was a very bad ruler. She got rid of capital
punishments and she created a hospital for unwanted babies. She also created a secret
hospital for those who wanted to keep their troubles private and not public. She
revitalized Russia under her reign and she made it grow larger and stronger than ever and
it was recognized as one of the greatest powers of Europe.
2. Peter the Great
He was the Emperor of Russia for six months until he was assassinated. He loved Prussia
and the first thing he did when he seized power was make peace with Prussia. He wasn’t
intrigued with politics and he was a child-like idiot. He was someone who wasn’t fit to
rule.
