Abstract:
All kinds of business operations mainly handle and maintained by good management and a good
manager. Organizations are maintained all their activities and works by their management for a
fixed or particular time. Actually, management is the heart and all the power of the
organizations. The leaders motivate and drive their employees to work more efficiently and also
make them skillful for a particular job. The management conducted or operated all types of work
for the organization. Through good management, the organization makes a handsome amount of
profit and also a good profit margin for the organization. And if the management does not play
their role properly then the organization will not be profitable for the future and they will
collapse and down their market share. So it can be said that through the proper management and
organization can run so far.

Introduction:
The management is the core of an organization so it so needs to know the activities and the
functions done by the management. Basically, business succession most of cases depends on
efficient management through an organization that can run smoothly and makes more profit. The
leaders are more important for an organization. Without proper management, an organization
cannot sustain itself in the market and they become a collapse. In this report, we can see the role
and responsibilities of the Apple company and its leader and management. In the first portion of
this report, we discussed the difference between the leader and the manager and in another
portion we discussed the role and importance of the leader ad the manager in the proper
management. The total success of the organization in most of the cases depends on the leader
and the manger the efficiency and skill of the leader help the organization to make a better
decision at any stake and that's without them an organization cannot work more. So it can be said
that the advantage and role of then-leader and manager help the organization to their proper
operation.

manager
P1 Define and compare the different roles and characteristics of a leader and a
manager.
Manager:

An individual who is responsible for a certain group of a task and the persons and subsets of a
company to conduct a certain test for particular objectives is called a manager.[ CITATION bus2
\l 1033 ] There are different types of the department in the organization and all the department
have the manager and the managers are responsible for the group of people and also about their
work. A manager monitors and controls the activities or work of certain people and they do it on
a regular basis. The company's success mainly depends on the ability and the worth of the
manager. A manager sets the goals of the work and also for the person who works as a
subordinate of him and also trained them and motivate them and also provide the command to
them. Then the manager also gets feedback from the workers about their work and other
activities. So that's why the role of the manager in the success of the organization beyond
described.

Leader:

A leader is a person who wants to do something different or unique which no one never thought
in the organization or in the country. Actually, leaders vision in the future what can happen. A
leader can change the entire situation and the environment of the company and that's why the
success of Apple also depends on the leadership of their leader.

Actually in this competitive world leaders are the valuable assets for any organization. A leader
has something new and unique which one never be thought. Leaders need to be more flexible
and also need the ability to face any problems and also make a quick response to face those
barriers. A leader also communicates to all the people of the organization and also have the
ability to manage the people.

The. difference between the leadership and the management

There are various types of difference between leader and manager they are discussed below:

A leader who has the uniqueness and the charismatic power makes him leader and then the
manager sets the goals for the work or a group of people by the instructions of the top
management leader. The leader visions a matter and implement it by the human resource of the
organization and make it a reality and that's why leaders have those charismatic power. On the
other hand, a manager sets the goals and makes its success by the instructions of the top
management or the leader. A leader has the uniqueness in the work and has some quality by born
which a manager does not have. A leader has the proper communication skills with all of the
employees and other people involved with the goal achievement. Through the uniqueness of the
leader, the organization can be sustained in the market for a long period of time.[ CITATION

After all, it can be said the managers have a rude behavior on the contrary leader top
management is the product to goal attainment.

LO2 Apply the role of a leader and the function of a manager in given
contexts.
The founder president of Apple Inc. Steven Paul Steve Jobs. He takes the risk of the company
many times and makes it a big company in the world. Actually, nobody thought about the touch
mobile before he thought and make it this is the vision of him. The present CEO of this company
Mr. Tim Cook is the second-largest shareholder of the company he also launches a lot of new
product and which make the apple company mare strong in the market. The profit or loss mainly
depends on the leader and the management. Apple Inc. also managed a good type of leader and
who take it so far. Their activity to make all the stakeholder of internal and external with a
relationship which makes them more flexible. Their manager has autonomy about the and
responsibility of their customer to make a new product. So for the good management, they are
now successful and is a class company in the world.[ CITATION ess1 \l 1033 ]

apply in different situational contexts.
Different leadership of Apple Inc. gives them some extra advantage rather than the other
organizations. Apple has some strategy they follow to build up the entire organization. Tim cook
the present CEO and him also so much conscious about their work and that's why they= hiring
and recruit people who are worthy of the job that's why it may become more flexible for any
organization to operate. They have some principles in the field of the job they are discussing
below:

Customer Obsession: Apple thinks that customer is the king and that's why they give
their best service to their customer. They gain customer loyalty as they provide a quality
product to their customer. I phone they launched to have a huge demand and people give
an advance booking for the product so it doesn't happen suddenly. They serve the world's
best mobile phone every year and that's why people are eagerly waiting for the product.
The survey on their competitors and then they go through the market.

Invent and Simplify: The leaders of Apple Inc. are really innovative and also their
workers are much skillful and innovative they make a new product for their customers.
And also they develop the product according to the customer's choice and that's why
people are so much happy with their product. They always think of new ideas and
thought that's they work on it and also make it a reality and also make it simple. When
they launch the first I phone make it so much simple and people can easily work on it and
that's why they are now the top class company in the world.

Insist on the Highest Standard: The leaders of the company always conscious about the
standard of the product. Apple products like I phone, I pod, I mac, I watch, I air pod, etc.
all of the product is in a decent quality and they try their best to their product as the
customers will satisfied if there any fault in the product they make promise to change the

product as soon as possible. So in this way, they keep their standard of the product which
are provided by them.

Think something Big: The employees and the leaders are considered as the big because
they always think big and as soon as make it a reality to their customers. The employees
are thought to be as a leader of their company and that's why they work more consciously
to make me big and possible. They think differently look around to their customers.

Frugality: Apple Inc. never is wasted money at any unconscious and unauthorized
program. Because they are more think about the innovation of the new product, due to the
frugality the employees become more productive and also it makes more profit and
goodwill for the company.

Situational Leadership Theory:


This is a theory of leadership in which a leader can blend or handle any type of situation. The
present situation of the business changes day by day and that's why it needs to take quick
decisions on the basis of the situation. The leaders are now conscious about the present situation.
But if the leaders have the quality and the skills then they are overcoming the situation at any
cost and that's why it can be said that leader has to the proper consciousness about the situation.
Situational leadership was invented by Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard [ CITATION Sit19 \l
1033 ] In Apple the leaders are more professional and they easily think of the situation and also

take some measures on that mater. So they are more professional to face any kind of difficulties
in any situation.[ CITATION Ken \l 1033 ]

Systematic Leadership Theory:


The initiatives methods that are taken by the leaders to work in a framework and sort out all of
the things and people in a precise way. A proper framework on the organization makes the labor
to work superbly. In Apple, there is a proper framework for the organization and that's why they
are now a company that has also millions of workers. They set a precise way of selling their
product to the ultimate customers and they make it easier for them to operate the whole process.

Contingency leadership theory:

It is one of the first situational theories in which the leaders processed the effectiveness
according to the present situation and this theory is given by Fred. E. Fiedler in the 1960s.

LO3 Demonstrate an appreciation of the role leaders and managers play


in the operations function of an organization.
A manager of the operation functions is the topmost level of the criteria and he gives the level
best to more productivity and more responsible for his job and that’s why it can be said that the
operation managers have to eye on the broad area of the organization. They have to maintained
and controlled on the work of the subordinates and also keep the standard of the work on the
organization. The operation manager coordinates all the departments so that all the department
run so smoothly and more flexible and which makes it more productive in the context. They have
to make sure about the standard and also about the customer’s satisfaction.

The leaders of the operations function so-called as the CEO of the company. They mainly the
higher authority of any organization they vision on a matter and make it the reality to the people.
He is responsible for all kinds of activities of the company and operations itself. He can predict
what will happen in the future and what is the next move of the company. So in this way, he

and managers play.
Apple Inc. in its operation management have some sectors in which they have to focus on:

Design of good services:

Apple design their product in a precise way then can cover the strategic objective of operation
management. The company use the online platform for the retail service and make it convenient
for their customer. To prove a good service Apple always design their own strategy of selling
their product in a proper way. They use many online platforms also shop to operate their daily
operation.

Quality management:

On the basis of quality Apple are in one-word mind-blowing they prove the best quality product
to their customer as they always provide and make satisfied their customers. They always work
on product development and also bring something new into the market which makes them more
innovative and more valuable. For example: before launching I pod their employees are more
innovative on their secret project and make their employees more innovative about the product
and that's why they provide a better quality product at a time.

Supply chain management:

Apple operation managers are always ready about the supply of the product to the ultimate
consumer. And they also get the objectives to fulfill the customers need. They have a good
network on the supply chain management for which they work more effectively and more
efficiently. So in that mater apple make sure about their supply of the product at a definite time.

Apple is now the second-largest mobile phone company in the world they have a huge amount of
employees. They provide a good service and product to their customers and that's why to survive
in the market they also have to provide the best quality product and service to their customers.
Actually, this work is done by the operation manager of the company. Their work on the fields is
to collect the quality product and coordinates in the department also supply chain management in
the organization. They have done their job more perfectly and that's why they survive in the
market otherwise they are drop in the competitive business world.[ CITATION ass \l 1033 ]

Evaluate how leaders and managers can improve efficiencies of operational management to
successfully meet business objectives.

The functional manager and the leaders are the key people in the organization who take all kinds
of vital decision links with the product and service. To improve their efficiency, they must
follow some key factors and Apple also follows some factors to improve in the operation
management they are given below:

Design a process of activity and also have to know about their capacity
Location
Key structure and strategy to meet up the objectives
Timing
Human resource department
Decision on the good product and service
Supply chain management
Inventory of the product needs to be determined
Maintaining all the activity in a proper way.

LO4 Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between


leadership and management in a contemporary business environment
Management and leadership are often considered and valuable things for the organization.
Leaders manage all types of activities in the organization and they make sure the organizational
productivity at a decent level. A leader always tries to set new possibilities and methods to run
the organization properly. Leaders are the main viewpoint of the organization and in this context,
it can be said that there is a positive relationship between the leader and the management.

There is some strategy of Apple Company that they follow in their management and in the
decision making by their leaders and the managers. Amazon always motivates their workers and
command them to do ethical activity at work. The morality, Hardworking, and visionary ability
help the Amazon leader to do betterment for the business. For those strategies, it's easy for the
leaders to make decisions in the management.

Conclusion
Managers and the leaders are the vital point of the organization they make the organization more
flexible and that's why they follow some strategies and structure in which they work. Apple is a
renowned company in the world they have some iconic leaders who make the company in a high
position. The founder president Steve Jobs is a leader who makes the impossible thing possible
and that's why he is called a leader. They provide a good quality product and service to their
customers. The functional manager plays a vital role in any organization without them an

organization does not run well and they are collapsed in the market. So from this report, we can
see the actual impact and contribution of the leader and the managers to the organization.
