Procurement Data Analyst

CATEGORY

PRIMARY PURPOSE The Procurement Data Analyst leads the selection,


deployment, and use of data resources, analytical tools
and methodologies to provide procurement intelligence to
support procurement and category management
strategies, decision making and performance.

KEY
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Identify, develop, select and deploy data resources and
contemporary analytical tools and methodologies which
enable strategic reporting, analysis and predictive
modelling to inform and support procurement/category
management.
• Provide strategic analyses and advice on complex
markets, supply arrangements and market development
initiatives to provide a sound basis for procurement
decisions and directions.
• Working closely with the Senior Manager Strategic
Sourcing, lead the design and implementation of effective
metrics and reports to continually monitor and assess the
performance of individual procurement arrangements and
the benefits realised for the total category/procurement
function.
• In consultation with business partners, build compliance
and risk management checks into research and analysis
processes and reporting to ensure a continuing focus on
risk identification, mitigation and management.
• Implement and manage projects using a range of data
sources to identify savings and business improvements
for ISLHD.
• Use a range of quantitative and qualitative data sources to
provide data, analysis and reporting to support specific
ISLHD projects and initiatives as required.
• Contribute to the completion of special projects, as
requested, from time to time.
• Preparation of written correspondence including self-
initiated briefs and responses, reports and other written
materials in the field of data analysis.
• Manage and develop analytical tools to continually
improve the quality of analysis provided at all stages of

the procurement process and integrate its use into


procurement decision-making.

SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as in
management, business administration or
technically orientated, or equivalent experience,
in a relevant discipline to facilitate effective
procurement services.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of procurement
processes including contemporary issues in
tendering and product selection activities.
3. Demonstrated ability to successfully develop
and implement effective metrics and reports to
continually monitor and assess the performance
of individual procurement arrangements and the
risks and benefits realised for the total
category/procurement function.
4. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and
influencing skills including the ability to interact
constructively and collaboratively with a diverse
range of stakeholders, throughout all
organisational levels.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently but
with a capacity for effective team work.
6. Demonstrated organisational skills and
experience working in a high volume and
demanding professional environment with a
capacity to prioritise competing demands and
achieve results with a customer focused
approach.
7. Willingness to travel in accordance with the
demands of the position (drivers licence
required).
