Introduction
Unit four of this course is on planning for various land use categories, particularly the four general land use policy
areas: Protection, Production, Settlements Development and Infrastructure Development Land Use Policy areas, with
particular focus on selected land use categories. The first module under this unit is centered on planning for Open
Space, Forest Land, and Agricultural Land for week one; and Coastal and Marine planning for week two.
The basic frameworks and principles of planning of these selected land use categories, as well as the processes for
the preparation of these selected land use areas are hightighted in this unit.
Learning Objectives
After studying this module, you should be able to:
1) Understand the basic frameworks and principles of planning for Open Space, Forest Land, and Agricultural Land;
2) Discuss the preparation and processes in planning for Open Space, Forest Land, and Agricultural Land.
For this topic, the learner is introduced to the basic frameworks, principles, and steps in planning for Open Space,
Forest Land, and Agricultural Land.
