“University of Cebu International Relations Office opens IACD MOOC Registration and

Digital Storytelling Contest”

University of Cebu as one of the FRIENDS project consortiums co-funded by the Erasmus+
Programme of the European Union is opening its registration on Intercultural Awareness
and Cultural Diversity Massive Open Online Course (IACD MOOC) and Digital Storytelling
Contest.
The enrollees of the IACD MOOC and Digital Storytelling Contest will be immersed with
enriched knowledge of intercultural competence and sensitivity. While it is important to
integrate intercultural dimensions into universities’ formal and information curriculum,
the said MOOC in its entirety is meant to Asian HEI’s students at all levels of education and
of diverse background who are interested and motivated to build their intercultural
competence and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
The IACD MOOC aims to offer complex meaning of culture, interculturality, cultural
dimensions, perception of otherness and the barriers for intercultural communication.
Furthermore, students will get acquainted with the Intercultural Passport tool and how to
earn it.
Enrollees who will register the IACD MOOC shall participate in the Digital Storytelling
which is in parallel with the IACD MOOC. The top three students who will win the Digital
Storytelling Contest shall be chosen to represent the university in a boot camp in Bulgaria
for free.
The registration is open until April 6, 2020. Interested enrollees shall visit the Student
Affairs Office or International Relations Office.
