INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENTS

Individual report instructions:

1. Select 1 topic listed below that you are comfortable with and develop your own report
individually.

2. Each candidate will be given not more than 14 days after the assignment briefing to submit
his/her report via U-Learn.

3. Plan your report as practical as possible with the intention that it will be used for your PBL
submission.

4. The report should be as close as possible to real proposal, with the intention to be used during
the implementation phase at your own organization or your future clients.
TOPICS

Title 1: Proposal to implement SEMS in your organization

The organization that you are appointed as an energy manager would like to develop Sustainable
Energy Management System (SEMS) within reasonable period specified period. You are supposed
to write a proposal to the top management on the current situation and the need to develop SEMS.
Explain in the proposal on the roadmap to achieve 3-Star certification of Energy Management Gold
Standard (EMGS) within targeted period.

Title 2: Proposal to implement SEMS in your client premise

Your company is a facility management contractor at an installation. The company is obliged to
develop a Sustainable Energy Management System (SEMS) for the installation. The system will
adopt the ASEAN SEM certification initiative named Energy Management Gold Standard
(EMGS), with commitment from all levels to achieve a 3-Star rated within reasonable timeline of
its implementation. The client has decided a SMART target of energy savings to be achieved.
Prepare an implementation proposal to fulfill the contractual obligation to client for approval.

Title 3: Proposal to implement SEMS in your organization

The organization that you are appointed as an energy manager has energy management system in
place. You would like to enhance the system by using the established Sustainable Energy
Management System (SEMS) under AEMAS scheme within reasonable specified period. You are
writing a proposal to the top management on the current situation and the need to improve the
system by using SEMS. Explain in the proposal on the roadmap to achieve 3-Star certification of
Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) within the targeted period.

Title 4: Business proposal on SEMS implementation for your client

A facility management company that you are working at is attempting to secure a contract to
operate and maintain an installation. Prepare a proposal to secure the facility management contract
from the owner. List possible and relevant salient points of your proposal obtain buy in from your
client. Strengthen your proposal by presenting a successful case study at your previous client to
show your capability to deliver your promise.
