SOME HR POLICIES THAT CAN BE OPTED TO DEAL
WITH THE SITUATION OF THE WORLD DUE TO
CORONA VIRUS: -

HUMAN RESOURCE POLICIES: -

HR policies are continuing guidelines on the approach of which an
organization intends to adopt in managing its people. They represent
specific guidelines to HR managers on various matters concerning
employment and state the intent of the organization on different
aspect of human resource management such as recruitment,
promotion, compensation, training, selection etc.

PURPOSE: -
The establishment of policies can help an organization demonstrate,
both internally and externally, that it meets requirements for
diversity, ethics and training as well as its commitments in relation to
regulation and corporate governance of its employees.

Human Resource policies could be classified on the basis of sources

or description.

ON THE BASIS OF SOURCE: -

1. Originated policies – These are the policies usually established
by the senior mangers in order to guide their subordinates.
2. Implicit policies – These are the policies which are not formally
expressed; they are inferred from the behaviour of managers.
3. Imposed policies – Policies are sometimes imposed on the
business by external agencies such as government, trade
association and trade unions.
4. Appealed policies – Appealed policies arise because the
particular case is not covered by the earlier policies. In order to
know how to handle some situations, subordinates may
request or appeal for the formulation of specific policies.
ON THE BASIS OF DESCRIPTION: -
1. General policies – These policies do not relate to any specific
issue in particular. General policies are formulated by a
leadership team.
2. Specific policies – These policies are related to specific issues
like staffing, compensation, collective bargaining etc
CONCLUSION: - Now a days the world is fighting with corona virus. I
want to suggest these some HR policies that can be opted to deal
with the situation. For handle this situation they can adopt appealed
policies because in order to know how to handle the situation
subordinates may appeal to superior regarding the situation.HR
policies can also be very effective at supporting and building the
desired organizational culture.
 ADAPT WFH AND SICK POLICIES: - The option to work from
home is a common perk offered by businesses. This option can
be an especially pertinent tool now. If you don’t yet have a
WFH policy, you might want to build one out. Colleagues can
also be reminded of the company’s sick day policy and
especially, the option to work from home if you’re feeling ok to
work but not quite well enough to come into the office.

 REDUCE OR ELIMINATE TRAVEL: - A Reservation.com survey

found that 43% of those surveyed would definitely cancel an
international business trip, and 63% would “probably, very
probably would cancel any business trip whether domestic or
abroad. Many employees travel – be it to sales pitches,
meeting, other offices, conferences, what have you. Right now,
with the emphasis on cutting back on travel, there’s likely to be
understandable anxiety around business trip planning within
your workforce. Make it easy on your employees. Don’t put
them in the difficult position of having to make that decision for
themselves.

 ENABLE YOUR EMPLOYEES: - Many colleagues and people in

general will be frustrated with their existing health support
system wherever they are. This recent twitter stream from a
physical therapist in Seattle who exhibits all the symptoms of
covid-19 – as of march 5, it was retweeted more than 120000
times. As she tells it, she’s had to navigate the frustrating
bureaucracy of the US healthcare system to not much avail.
You can enable your employees with clear and empathetic
messaging on WFH and sick leave and allowing for greater
flexibility in options and better enable them to seek out
healthcare in a situation such as a mentioned above.
