The K-12 law (RA 10533 or Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013), which was
implemented during Aquino’s regime, sought to reform the basic education system
of the Philippines by adding two more years of high school.

The business community should care about the K-12 Law.

1) The prosperity of future industries depends upon the people’s skills and
knowledge.
2) The previous education system lacks quality.

d. What kinds of support are given for the reasons?

1) Quality education provides the people a foundation of skills and knowledge so

that they are able to pursue a job.
2) Lack of school resources such as classrooms, textbooks; insufficient quality
teachers and training programs; 10 years of basic education.
