Case 6,7,8
Case 6,7,8
1. Exactly why was the mistake in the instance of Carl Wendover made? What defense, if
any, could Wendover advance in his behalf?
The reason why Carl Wendover made a mistake in his job is that, he is lacking in
knowledge in his new position. I suggest that before he started in a new job, he should
be tested if he is really qualified by the position and he need to be under briefing by
the former head and state all the important information needed in the division.
2. If you were the person who selected Wendover, what would you do to avoid making
this mistake again?
If I would be selected in that position. I would not underestimate the new job, new
position given me because I was selected. Not just because I’m good at my previous
job, it doesn’t mean that I’m already good enough to my new job. I still need to
seminars in order for me to familiarize the important information and the work field
that assigned to me.
3. If you were the executive vice-president, what action, if any, would you take so that
such mistakes would be unlikely to occur?
As I said above, before you select or hire the employee for the bigger role, he
should be train first and need to examine if he is really qualified for the position.
