The evaluation tool that we use with our student teaching is the Charlotte Danielson Framework. It is a
simple process that allows for everyone to have a voice and to provide honest feedback. Our goal is for
our student teacher to have ongoing conversations about their progress throughout the semester.
There are three reports for a 16 week student teaching placement. There are sample reports on our
website for you to view.
1) Early Observation
2) Mid Term Observation
3) Final Observation
There are four reports due for a split (8 week/8 week) student teaching placement. There are
sample reports on our website for you to view
First 8 week placement: Second 8 week placement:
1) Early Observation 3) Early Observation
2) Mid Term Observation 4) Final Observation
Step 2: The student teacher logs into the system (using their NMU user/password) and completes their
part of the evaluation. Upon hitting submit, an email is sent to the next person, the cooperating teacher.
Step 3: The cooperating teacher logs into the system and completes their part of the evaluation. Upon
hitting submit, an email is sent to the next person, the university supervisor.
Step 4: The university supervisor logs into the system and completes their part of the evaluation. Upon
hitting submit, the report is sent to NMU Director of Field Experiences.
