SECTION A

a. What is actuator?
b. Explain pulse modulation.
c. Compare RET and POP instruction in microprocessor.
d. What is subroutine?
e. Write important applications of 8085.
f. What are the functions of CPU?
g. Explain different types of interrupts in 8085.

Explain the difference between RAM & ROM.


What is a solenoid? Draw a sketch to show the magnetic field pattern
produced by a current-carrying solenoid.

c. What is data acquisition? Explain with a block diagram, the DAQ system.
d. Write short notes on the following :
(i) System timing (ii) Character representation
e. What are the various types instructions used in assembly language
programming? Explain one of them in detail.

disadvantages & applications of mechatronics.
Explain hall effect & explain how this effect can be used to construct a

Explain the wheat stone bridge circuit used for strain measurement.

is used to control the focusing and exposure of an automatic camera.
(b) Explain briefly the evolution of microprocessor. Write the basic relationship
of an operational amplifier.

(iv) Stack pointer
(v) Accumulator.

(ii) Floating point number (iv) Character representation.

Give the significance of SIM and RIM instruction available in 8085. Explain the
