MAGNET BOARD TO WALL +EASY

After reading through a tutorial for painting a wall with a special magnetic paint to
make a magnet board, I felt a little discouraged since I am renting my current place.
Without the flexibility of painting an entire wall, I decided to come up with my own
tips and tricks for how to make a DIY magnet board that is a little more temporary.
How can you attach a magnet board to a wall? To attach a magnet board to a
wall easily, you will need to use a hammer and nails to hang it up in one
place. The magnet board can be achieved using a simple sheet of metal.
With all of the great conveniences that come with hanging something on a bulletin or
refirdgertato with a magnet, it doesn’t get much easier than having an entire
magnetic wall to play with. If you do not have the time or energy to use magnetic
paint for this kind of project, follow this DIY guide for a simple magnet board instead.

How To Attach a Magnet Board To a Wall

Magnetic boards are an extremely easy and convenient DIY hack for home
improvement projects. Perfect for children’s playrooms and common areas, anything
that is magnetic can be pinned up on the wall and replaced as desired.
If you have an empty wall that has been staring at you and you don’t know
what to do with it to tie the room together, a magnetic wall might be just
the right project for you!
The process of creating your very own magnet board covering a wall in your home is
almost as easy as it sounds. With the handy combination of a hammer and some
nails, you will be able to attach it to your desired location in no time.
In addition to the easy steps that go into setting it up, it is also very easy to take
down. With very minimal effort, you can remove the magnetic board in the same
way that you attached it and simply fill in the holes when you no longer need to use
it.
What You Will Need:

 A magnetic sheet (fitted to the wall)

 Nails
 Hammer
 Cardboard

The only materials that you will need for this super easy DIY project are a large
magnetic sheet that is fitted to the wall, some nails, a hammer, and a sheet of
cardboard.
DIY Magnet Board Wall:

1. Make sure that your magnetic sheet is fitted to the wall area
2. Place the sheet on top of the cardboard
3. Use the hammer and nails to create holes around the outer edges
4. Hold the sheet up to the wall in the desired position
5. Place the nails inside of the holes one by one, hammering them into the wall
6. Add your magnets and decorations and enjoy your magnet wall!
To begin, you will need to fist make sure that your magnetic sheet is fitted to the
wall area that you will be attaching it to. If you need to make any adjustments, you
can use a ruler and marker to measure the sheet and cut it out with a blade before
proceeding to the next steps.
Once you have successfully measured and cut out your metal sheet, you will need to
place it on top of the cardboard on a flat surface to prevent damaging your
workspace.
Use the hammer and nails to create small holes around the outer edges of the metal
sheet. Depending on how long and wide your metal sheet is, you might need to
make several holes to keep it hanging upright once you attach it to the wall.
Keep in mind that each hole you create will hold one nail, so make sure that you
have enough to cover the entire area before you begin attaching it. As a general rule
of thumb, you should make one hole on each of the four corners, and at least one
additional hole in the center of each of the four edges.
Next, you will need to hold the sheet up to the wall in the desired position. This step
might require an additional set of hands in order to be able to come out with a
straight and accurate magnet board.
When it is being held in place, put hte nails inside of each hole and hammer them
into the wall one by one. The nails should be completely submerged into the drywall,
with only the head showing at the top, which will blend in with the surface of the
metal sheet.
After all steps have been completed, there is no need to wait for anything to set or
dry. You can immediately place your magnets and decorations onto the magnetic
board and start using it right away!

DIY Magnet Board - Tips And Tricks

When it comes to creating your own magnetic board and attaching it to a wall in
your home, there are lots of tips and tricks to keep in mind for the most desirable
finished product. In this section, we will be going over some ideas for making
customized and creative magnet boards in the easiest way possible.
DIY Magnet Board Tips and Tricks:

 Have an extra person on hand for the attachment process

 Use magnetic paint to customize the look
 Create a magnet board out of any material using magnetic paint
 Use an adhesive magnetic sheet to create your DIY magnet wall

The first thing to keep in mind before starting your DIY project is to have another
person on hand to make sure the process runs as smoothly as possible. Although the
cutting of the sheet and creation of holes can be done by just one person, you will
most likely need someone to hold it in place for you when you are attaching it.
If you want to go for a more customized or decorative look for your magnetic wall,
you can use a special paint that has magnetic properties to change the color. To find
this, look for magnetic paint and magnetic primer.
After covering the area with a drop cloth and lots of painter’s tape, you will be able
to apply several coats of both the primer and paint to come out with a fully
functional splash of color on top of your already magnetic board.
Additionally, you can make a magnetic board out of almost any material without
using a metal sheet that might not fit the look you are going for. Using magnetic
primer and paint once again, you can make an alternative material into a magnetic
one that is more of your style.
Lastly, you can use a magnetic sheet with an adhesive back to create a magnetic
wall instead of the processes that were outlined above. This material usually comes
in a convenient roll, and can also be placed directly on the wall or onto another
material that is mounted onto the wall.
Regardless of what method that you choose for your DIY magnetic wall or the
aesthetic you are going for, there are plenty of easy and fool-proof ways to create
this project. Following the simple guide and helpful tips and tricks in this article, you
will certainly come out with something amazing when you are finished.
