I. OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST
a) This is a mini-contest and the objective of this contest is to assess
and benchmark a young child on the application of mind - particularly
to solve problems around math and logic.
b) It is to identify interest and potential of a child around math and logic.
c) It is to acknowledge the ‘grit’ and ‘perseverance’ of the child around
building the math skills.
d) The contest is not meant to be a comprehensive one and is not
intended to reflect IQ or any other benchmark. It is a reflection of
performance around certain tasks on a particular day.

II. AWARDS
Gold Medal Top 5 percentile These are the general

Silver Medal Between Top 5 to 15 guidelines and there will be

III. PARTICIPATION
Currently studying in Std 2 to Std 7 or

For awarding medals, a student’s grade and difficulty of the question will be
considered.

IV. SYLLABUS & CURRICULUM


There is no special curriculum or syllabus apart from regular Math taught in
CBSE/ICSE/SSC schools. This may include number theory, algebra,
geometry, logic, etc. However, it is expected that students will have clarity
of the concepts and an ability to apply them in different ways.

V. CONTEST PATTERN
a) The contest will be held online. The details of the contest
website/platform will be shared 2 days before the contest on the
registered e-mail address and/or Whatsapp.
b) The contest will be multiple choice questions
c) The duration of the contest will be 45 min to 75 min depending upon the
grade

There are no registration fees

VIII. RULES FOR PARTICIPANTS

i. The contest has to be taken on laptop/computer.


ii. Apart from the contest website, no other websites or applications
should be open during the contest.
iii. Calculators, ready-made tables, books, printed papers are not
allowed during the contest.
iv. Participants should not be in possession of any communication
devices during the contest.
v. Each contestant must work independently. No intervention is
allowed. There should not be any direct or indirect communication
with any person, or a fellow contestant during the contest.
vi. Participants are not allowed to leave the desk while participating in
the contest (to keep the camera on all the time)

IX. ABOUT CLUB 1729

Club 1729 is a not-for profit initiative established with an aim to promote


following:

i. inculcate love for math


ii. improve problem solving and critical thinking
iii. enjoy the pleasure of finding things out
