Hi Readers,

On the Basis of your continuous demand for a Monthly PDF of most-trusted Current Affairs, the No.1
preparation platform OnlineTyari has come up the Current Affairs July 2019 PDF.

As we know Current Affairs, including related General Knowledge (GK), form a crucial component of any
competitive exams including SSC, Banking, IAS|PCS and others. Now-a-days with increasing stagnancy in
selecting questions from Static GK, the paper setters are harping on current affairs to increase the
difficulty quotient of any paper. The lack of preparation for current affairs by the aspirants and candidates
often is a main cause of their failure.

The Current Affairs July 2019 PDF covers the most important and exam-focused current affairs. The PDF
has been designed basis the concept of complete Study Cycle, viz., Study ----> Revise ----> Test and thus
has three parts: (i) Detailed Section-wise Current Affairs in bullet points; (ii) One Liners; and (iii) Current
Affairs Questions with Explanation.

The Current Affairs PDF of July 2019 comes with one more value addition, that is, 8 Topics of the Month.

technologies for reusing wastewater after treating it.

IIT Kharagpur is the lead Indian partner of the multi-institutional, multi-crore Saraswati 2.0 project for
treatment and reuse of water, a statement issued
by the institute said.

The project is being funded by the European Union

and the Government of India's Department of
Science and Technology and the Department of
Biotechnology, it said.

It aims to identify the best available and affordable

technologies for wastewater treatment and to
provide solutions to the challenges of water use in
both rural and urban areas.

As part of the project, three water treatment plants will be set up at the IIT Kharagpur campus to treat
wastewater and make them fit for use in irrigation.

The plants will be commissioned by January 2020, he said.

Seven such plants will be also set up in the other partner Indian institutes, which are IIT Madras, IIT
Bhubaneswar, IIT Roorkee, NITIE Mumbai, MNIT Jaipur and TERI School of Advanced Studies.

IIT Kharagpur will manage the project along with its lead European partner, BOKU (University of Natural

Saraswati 2.0 builds on the Saraswati project of 2012-17, which was also jointly funded by the European
Commission and Indian government's Department of Science and Technology.

The project has been selected under the EU-India joint call on research and innovation for water.

It will lead to transfer of European technologies to India, which could then be tested and customised
according to Indian needs at an affordable cost, the statement said.

The target is to not only facilitate exchange of technologies but also use them for benefiting the Indian
population once they are tried and tested, it said.

The project assumes significance as untreated domestic and municipal wastewater has become a major
source of water and environmental pollution.

Treatment of wastewater not only prevents pollution of the water sources but also provides a valuable
additional source of water supply, it said.

to do uninterrupted transactions while shopping online. This feature is called Identity Check Express.

1. London named world's best student city in new rankings

UK's capital London has been named as the world's best city for students for the second consecutive year,
beating international cities like Tokyo and Melbourne that came second and third respectively.

The 'QS Best Student Cities Ranking' compiled by global education consultancy QS Quacquarelli Symonds
highlights each city's performance across six categories - the number of top-ranked universities; the
proportion of a city's population made up of students; quality of life on offer; job opportunities available
after graduation; affordability; and the feedback of the students themselves.

According to the rankings, India's best student city is Bangalore (81st), followed by Mumbai (85th), Delhi
at 113 and Chennai at 115 out of a total of 120 cities ranked in the list.

London beat international cities such as Tokyo in Japan (2nd) and Melbourne in Australia (3rd) to grab the
first place for the second consecutive year.

Student numbers from India coming to study in London registered a hike of 20 per cent in 2017-18,

world were in danger of disappearing".

Ethnologue, a directory of languages, lists 7,111 living languages worldwide (languages that are still being
used and spoken by people). According to Ethnologue, there are 3,741 languages (over half the total)
which have fewer than 1,000 speakers.

Chinese, Spanish, English, Hindi and Arabic are the most widely spoken languages worldwide when only
first-languages are considered. These five languages account for what is spoken by over 40% of people
worldwide.

total).

where the highest number of languages are spoken.

According to UNESCO's 'Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger', 228 languages have become extinct
since 1950. About 10% of the languages are classified 'vulnerable', while another 10% are 'critically
endangered'. In India, five languages have become extinct since 1950, while 42 are critically endangered.

Most Indian languages are derivatives of languages that are spoken in other parts of Asia as well. For
instance, the Sino-Tibetan languages are spoken across Northeast India, China, Bhutan, Nepal and other
South East Asian countries. One of the outliers to this trend is the Andamanese language family, which is
confined to India alone.
