● In the article “Mind-Sets and Equitable Education,” Carol Dweck argues that there is a
difference between fixed mind-set vs growth mind-set, which can affect the academic
performance of students.
● Your ability to grow is not based on your intellect, but your mindset. As the author
mentions, Einstein wasn’t Einstein without years of passionate and relentless effort.
● Students hold beliefs that can have a big impact on their achievements.
● Those with a fixed mind-set believe that intelligence is a static trait, while those with a
growth mind-set believe that anyone’s intellectual ability can grow
● Encouragement by teachers or professors can foster emotional and mental growth in the
students.
