The Southern Marin Taskforce to reduce death and destruction from
the deadly CORONAVIRUS!
Alena Maunder (Nurse Lena), and Southern Marin leaders and
residents from Mill Valley, Marin City, and Sausalito have come together to form an EMERGENCY TASKFORCE to work towards setting up a COVID -19 Drive Thru Test Site. This partnership seeks to create a community-wide outreach and engagement strategy to educate residents and the homeless on how to best prevent being a victim of this pandemic disease and disseminate essential COVID -19 emergency supplies to help ease the stress that this virus brings with it. In order to secure a COVID -19 Test Site, the Emergency Taskforce is seeking to raise $50,000 in the first phase of the drive. An angel investor like the one who funded the Bolinas testing for all residents would be our dream come true. https//www.mercurynews.com/this-reclusive-marin-county-enclave-is-testing- everybody-in-town-for-coronavirus. Upon securing the initial funding, our plan is to approach UCSF and ask them to designate Marin City as testing site for Southern Marin residents. We need to display good faith by showing that our community cares and is willing to invest in this project. “I’m willing to be a LIFESAVER,” is what our supporters will be saying with each donation. The Emergency Taskforce is comprised of several organizations and residents, and concerned citizens, including the Marin City Community Services District, Cronkite Development, Shore Up Marin City, Sausalito Women’s Club, Surge (Showing Up for Racial Justice) Marin, and Play Marin. Everyone is welcome to join this life saving Emergency Taskforce. You can contact the Taskforce’s coordinator, Nurse Lena, at musbred@gmail.com, or Paul Austin, Director of Play Marin, paustin@playmarin.org. for more information. If you would like to donate, please submit your donation to paustin@playmarin.org, P.O. Box 530 Sausalito, Ca. 94966. Instagram:Play.Marin. All donations are tax deductible. If you would like to donate supplies for our Essential bags for 1,200 Households to be distributed in Marin City, Shelter Hill, Camino Alto Apts, Bradley House, Alto Station Apts. and Fireside Apts. in Mill Valley, The Hilarita and Tiburon Hills Estates in Tiburon, Sausalito Houseboat community and Bee Street Housing in Sausalito.
