KACI COVID-19 Communication: March 30, 2020

Strategies for KACI regarding COVID-19

Attn All KACI Associates,

KACI has an obligation to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. In lieu of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond. In
compliance with CDC recommendations, KACI has implemented the following practices, which are equally applicable in
the face of other contagious respiratory and communicable diseases and conditions, such as influenza which is
widespread in many communities:

▪ Sick associates are encouraged to stay home

▪ Vendors, contractors and others who have symptoms of respiratory illness should stay home. They will not be
allowed to enter KACI until they are free of fever, signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours,
without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines
▪ Associates who appear to have acute respiratory illness symptoms such as cough, fever or shortness of breath)
upon arrival to work, or upon becoming sick if this happens during the day, will be separated from other
employees and sent home immediately. A follow-up appointment with BluMIne Health® will be made.
▪ Respiratory etiquette (cough into bent elbow) and good hand hygiene (liberal washing of hands with hot water
and soap for 20 seconds in addition to hand sanitizer) by all employees.
▪ Communications/Postings that encourage staying home when sick, cough and sneeze etiquette, and good hand
hygiene at the entrances and exits and in other workplace areas in the plant.
▪ Soap and water in restrooms and alcohol-based hand sanitizer in multiple locations as well as all conference
rooms have been installed; we will ensure adequate supplies.
▪ Routine environmental cleaning is conducted on all frequently touched work surfaces (workstations,
countertops, doorknobs, cafeteria tables, etc.).
▪ Disposable wipes are provided for employees where applicable.

For any KACI associate who must travel, they will be required to adhere to the following precautions from the CDC:

▪ Avoid contact with sick people.

▪ Avoid animals (alive or dead), animal markets, and products that come from animals (such as uncooked meat).
▪ Wash hands often with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap
and water are not available.
▪ Do not travel while sick.
▪ Cover mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve (not hands) when coughing or sneezing.

There are additional resources and guidance from the CDC to learn more about the disease. KACI adheres to the
information shared via the World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC websites:
