Indonesian Independence Day

Independence Day (Indonesian: Hari Kemerdekaan, colloquially known as Tujuh


belasan (the seventeenth) is a national holiday in Indonesia  Indonesian Independence Day is
celebrated to commemorate the proclamation of Indonesian. Remembering the previous
fighters who sacrificed themselves to get an independent Indonesia would make all those who
remember it always keep the spirit of maintaining Indonesia's independence in various ways.
For example, starting from mutual respect, preserving Indonesian culture, improving the
quality of education, being proud to use local products, not fighting with each other, and
many others.
Independence Day is an important public holiday in Indonesia, and is celebrated by
Indonesian people in their cities and villages, and also abroad. Colloquially known
as tujuhbelasan or 17-an which means "seventeenth" in Indonesian, it is a joyous celebration,
as after the flag ceremony in the morning, in the afternoon people usually organise various
games and competitions for children and adults.
Every year on August 17, the people of Indonesia celebrate this Independence Day of
Independence with great fanfare. Starting from the pinang climbing competition, cracker
eating competition, to the military ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, all sections of the
community participated in their own ways. Every year on August 17, the Indonesian people
celebrate the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia by singing a song by H Mutahar,
Merdeka Day.
The race that often graces and enlivens the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day
Proclamation Day is held in villages / villages which are generally attended by children and
adolescents and is coordinated by village administrators (RT / RW) / local youth
organizations (Karang Taruna). Eat crackers, Climbing slippery pole, Running marbles, Sack
