REVISION NOTES (CHAPTER 1 – CHAPTER 2)
BY: AINUL KAMARUDIN
CHAPTER 1 (NUMBER)

We have 7 types of Numberrrsss

Whole Number No decimal or fraction. Eg: 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 90

Integer Number Include positive and Negative Number. Eg: -9, 0, -1, 5, 7

Odd Number Eg:, 21, 7, 13, 9, 17

Even Number Eg:, 4, 8, 80, 100, 144

Prime Number A number that can be divided by 1 and itself. Eg: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17
Perfect Square Number A number that is a product of a number squared. Eg: 4, 9 , 16, 25, 144, 169

Cube Number A product of a x a x a. Eg: 1, 8, 27, 64, 125 , 216

CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

If you were given Triangles, CHECK which type are they, okay!
We have 4 types of triangles. Make sure you can differentiate them!
1)
EQUILATERAL
TRIANGLES It has same length of side.

Since total angle in Triangle

is 180ᵒ, the total angle will
be divided equally between
these 3 vertices.
Only two sides have same
2) ISOSCELES length.

TRIANGLES
The two angles (b) at the
base of the triangle will have
the same value
3) RIGHT-
ANGLED
TRIANGLES All the
angles
Named after this. The right- have
angled vertex in this triangle. different
values.
4) SCALENE
Remaining angle

This angle connected to ç

TRIANGLES
The value of exterior
angle can be found by
adding the interior angles
of the remaining angles.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

If you were given Rhombus, OPPOSITE ANGLES ARE EQUALLL!!

They are opposite to

each other

OR 2a + 2b = 360º
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

For different type of polygon, if you were given number of side of the polygon:

1) You can find the SUM OF INTERIOR ANGLES = (number of side – 2) X 180º

°
2) You can find the VALUE OF EXTERIOR ANGLE = HAFALL!! And
refer to next
° slide
3) You can find the VALUE OF INTERIOR ANGLE = 180° −

IN ANY POLYGON, SUM OF THE EXTERIOR angles ALWAYSSSSS

BE 360º. Only sum of interior angles are different for each polygon.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are 4 different types of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

Any angle that is bigger

than 180º but smaller
than 360º

Any angle that is Any angle that at 90º

less than 90º Any angle that lies in
between 90º and 180º
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

(1)

If value of angle a is the SAME as value

angle c, THEN angle b= angle d
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

(2)

The angle of straight line is 180ᵒ.

Therefore, TOTAL ANGLES on a straight
should be EQUAL to 180ᵒ.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

(3)

The angle of circle is 360ᵒ.

Therefore, TOTAL ANGLES that made a
circle should be EQUAL to 360ᵒ.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

Line crosses parallel lines

(4) Same location
(above parallel), If you have a line crosses parallel lines,
same angle then the angle on first parallel line will
1st Parallel line be the same as on second parallel line.

2nd Parallel line SAME LOCATION ON PARALLEL

LINE, SAME ANGLE.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

(5)
Same pattern like previous picture. But
this, FIND ‘Z’ pattern. The interior
angle of Z will have the same value.
While exterior will have the same
value.

Exterior of Z Interior of Z
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

(6)
Same pattern like previous picture.
The summation of two angles on a
straight line should be 180º.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

If you see this (7) 1st Line Crossed 1st Line Crossed
pattern, with
PARALLEL
LINES, the sum Intersection angle Intersection angle
of two angles on
parallel lines will
2nd Line Crossed
be the angle of 2nd Line Crossed
intersection of
two crossed
lines.
Intersection angle will always be on Different SIDE.
CHAPTER 2 ( ANGLES AND POLYGONS)

There are different properties of angle. Refer to the Figure below.

(8)
1st Line Crossed
If two lines crosses each other.
OPPOSITE angles will have the same
value.

THAT IS WHY total of a and b is

2nd Line Crossed equal to value of c.
