Many companies have now put
more importance on team building
because of its various benefits to
the employees and of course, to
the business. Team building
teaches collaborative skills, thus,
helping employees develop trust in
each other and in their abilities.
Improve Productivity
The main goal of team is to boost
productivity. How? Because as employees
learn to work together more effectively,
they are also able to work more
efficiently. Team building activities give
opportunity to employees to identify ways
to improve processes and policies.
Knowing their capabilities, strengths and
weaknesses, the distribution and division
of tasks also becomes easier.
Build Rapport
Team building activities give
people a chance to know their
workmates in a more personal
level. They are able to establish
certain amount of rapport and
therefore trust each other more.
They are now able to understand
one another and be tolerant in
different situations.
Motivate Employees
Sometimes, due to repetitive tasks or
stress, most employees become tired
of what they are doing and they are
slowly losing motivation. So with team
building, it creates an environment
that motivates people to achieve goals
of the organization as well as the
employee’s personal growth.
Encourage Creativity
Team building activities take out the
employees from their usual, everyday
routine and give them a chance to do
different things which improves their
creativity. With the given activities in
team building, they are able to use
their imagination to accomplish every
task set before them. Therefore, it
also enhances their problem-solving
skills which are really needed when
they get back to their respective work.
Team building should be held at
least once a year because it also
shows that the company cares for
their employees. They should also
be included in the planning - from
the team building venues to the
program and activities - so they
know that their opinions and
suggestions matter.
