The intersection abides with Batas Pambansa Bilang 344 under the
condition that ramps were provided for persons with disabilities as means of
access to level of change going to entry points and entrances, crossing from
one road to the other. According to the Implementing Rules and Regulation of
the National Council on Disability Affairs (1982), streets, highways and
transport related structures to be constructed – Streets, highways and
transport related structures shall be provided with the following barrier-free
facilities and accessibility features at every pedestrian crossing such as

The only problem is that there are no audio-visual aids when persons
with disabilities cross the streets. Railings are not also seen to guide blind
people or anyone with impaired vision. Only one railing is found at the back of
the establishment of the mall. Parking spaces in front of the food chains are
also not readily accessible.
III. Draw the existing road facility showing the findings of provision or
non-provision of Batas Pambansa Bilang 344 requirements.
Persons with disabilities are prone to danger when being exposed to busy
streets, high-speeding cars, and non-stop traffic. This is the reason behind the
proposal of putting more visible signages that would allow awareness among drivers
to be careful in passing by the streets and would also signify persons with disabilities
that there are specialized facilities that could accommodate them while treading the
streets.
Sidewalk ramps are clearly painted with the Person With Disability (PWD)
logo and also accompanied by steel handrails that is also efficient for those with

impaired vision, or senior citizens that have difficulty in stepping down on the
sidewalks.
Pedestrian crossing signals in the two streets are already installed. However,
the two remaining streets must also be installed with these signals with a timer in
order to make persons with disabilities aware if they can cross the road at a given
amount of time.
A yellow double center line was also added in order to prevent cars from
overtaking within the region of pedestrian crossing. Some persons with disabilities
take time when crossing, so it is only proper to make sure that cars stay on their
respective lanes.
