Log Calculator (2)
Below is an example how to use Template script: Log Splicing
Task: Splice GR_curve and GR_lateral
• Open Calculator
• Copy Log splicing script from Templates folder into Script1
• Define the parameters and hit Run
Mapping (1)
Ability to construct structure maps based on horizontal well interpretations and well tops
1. Input well tops details (X,Y,Z) as polygons (To convert tops to polygons right click on Top -> To points)
2. Select respective horizon -> Right click -> To points … OR Horizon Format Tab -> To points.
3. Define the step (survey points, segment boundaries or manual spacing). In addition there is an option to
create point set only form the displayed interpretation segments.
Click OK. This will create point set from the horizon under Polygon

Mapping (2)
Ability to construct structure maps based on horizontal well interpretations and well tops
4. Create a folder under Polygons section. Drag the polygons (point sets) created earlier into the folder.
5. Select MODE -> Mapping
6. Define Input (ex. Folder that was created), Outline and Grid (either create new or modify the existing one)
7. Define Dx and Dy (either by default or manually input values)
8. Define the rotation angle and select interpolation algorithm
9. Click Run –> this will create 2D Grid

Enhanced Target Line. Well Planning (1)
Ability to create a well plan either during landing or while geosteering horizontal section
1. Select well -> Right click -> New -> Target line
2. Select the Target line in the object tree – Target Line Format
3. Edit target line and click Extend Trajectory
4. It will calculate the minimum DLS that is required to get to the beginning of the target line

Enhanced Target Line. Well Planning (2)
Ability to create a well plan either during landing or while geosteering horizontal section
5. Clicking Append will create well trajectory section. Access well trajectory spreadsheet to view details.
6. Target spreadsheet provides target line details. In BLACK – parameters that can be changed manually (ex.
defining X, Y coordinates can help planning the well in 2D view). Parameters that can’t be edited manually are
greyed out.

Enhanced Target Line. Well Planning (3)
Ability to create a well plan either during landing or while geosteering horizontal section
8. Ability to manually constrain the DLS (ex. based on completion limits, tool limits, drilling operational limits
etc..). Click the checkbox and define the achievable DLS
9. If the dashed projected trajectory is not drawn on the cross-section it means that input DLS is not sufficient to
reach the beginning of the target line. In this scenario simply drag the target line to the right until the
projection is appeared. This will create a realistic trajectory projection considering the constrained DLS.

Image Logs Enhancement
Ability to select different Palette for Image Logs
Ability to apply Lightness and Transparency settings:
• Select Image Log in the Object Tree -> Image Log Format - > Define Palette and apply
Lightness/Transparency
Palette options

Copy and paste Topset
Loading data into Topset spreadsheet directly from worksheet file:
• Right click on the Topset -> Spreadsheet -> Right click -> Paste or Insert copied cells
• Topset table includes two columns: top name and MD
• Note: Original copied cells need to be in two column format: Column 1 = Top Name, Column 2 = MD
2
Editing objects in context menu
Ability to edit objects in context menu:
• Select Top / Horizon / Target Line / Comments in the object tree - > Right click –> Edit…
Editing Tops

Multiselect in Object Tree
Ability to select multiple objects given the same object type. Applies for Geosteering, Map
view and 3D view windows.
• Select objects (either by pressing Shift or Ctrl button) –> Сlick the checkbox to display/hide

Copy Style: Wells
Copy style of the well can be done to apply settings to other ones. It applies for wells and typewells
Well template can be created and used to standardize wells in the projects
• Select the well –> Right click –> Copy style -> Choose the second well -> Paste style
✓ Well will inherit the style (line format, survey points, label)
✓ Logs (with the same mnemonic) will inherit the style (line format, min/max scale, log scale, display along well)

Grid export
Ability to export grids from StarSteer
Support IRAP ASCII and XYZ export formatting
• Select Grid in the Object Tree -> Right Click - > Export… OR
• Select Grid in the Object Tree -> DATA -> Export
IRAP output

Tops display options
Ability to display tops in the cross-section window either horizontally, vertically or
perpendicular to the well trajectory
• Select one top or several tops (by pressing Ctrl or Shift button) -> click Top Format tab
• Define format: Horizontal, Vertical or Perpendicular

Multiselect of segments
Ability to select multiple segments in the interpretation spreadsheet to HIDE or DISPLAY and
define the segment color
• Go to Geosteering Mode -> Interpretation spreadsheet
• Select segments by pressing left mouse button key + Shift or Ctrl button -> enable/disable Hide checkbox
• Select segments by pressing left mouse button key + Shift or Ctrl button -> change color for all selected

Shared drive working enabler
If multiple users working on the same project stored on a shared drive, the software would ask
to save the project locally to prevent the project from being corrupted:
• When attempt to save the project on a shared drive with multiple users working on it and making changes,
the pop-off window come up informing you about the changes made by other users;
• Save it locally to avoid potential data corruption
Recommendations: whenever possible avoid simultaneous work on the same project stored on the stared drive.
Alternatively consider to use SOLO* platform
