Gabrielle Elliott-Coleman: Personal Statement

Growing up, I have also watched many FBI shows with my mom and they have always inspired me to be
apart of an organization that helps someone whenever it is needed. My uncle has been a deputy for
Manatee County for the past 25 years and has taught me a lot through his experiences My first dream job
was to become a police officer, but the more I learned about the job I felt like I wanted something a little
more. I later wanted to be an investigator and Understand the 5 W’s. I wanted to do the research and find
the bad guys but something in me also wanted to be able to travel the world. My other uncle spent 21
years in the air force as a communications engineer and has traveled the world many times. So, I have
decided to finish college earning a bachelor’s degree in business and join the air force as a military police
officer. Going into the air force already having a college degree will give me officer status. I will also be
able the world while helping those who need it.
Currently I am a part time dual enrolled student at the State College of Florida: Manatee-Sarasota,
pursuing an Associate in business. I am looking forward to the courses I will be taking that will guide me
in the right direction to begin my future. Outside of my course at the college I will be working on getting
into shape to help prepare my self for the 8 weeks of basic training.
I plan to continue to build my growth physically and mentally. After SCF, I would like to attend Florida
State University and minor in their Criminal Justice program. I believe having more experience in this
field will help me when working for the air force.
After graduation, I hope to begin working at MacDill Air Force Base stationed in Florida. After serving
my time in Florida I hope to begin traveling outside of the United States, serving at all different US
military bases.
