As an alternative, hoses can be manufactured by the dealer. Hose assembly information is

available through the Hydraulic Information System (HIS) in the “Non-Cat
Cat hose consist” area.
Please use the legacy HMS part number as a reference.

Apply SEBU5898-14 14 “Cold Weather Recommendations for All Caterpillar Machines“ to

condition the dealer built hoses for ambient temperatures below -40°C (-40°F).

1. Procedure

Before replacing hoses, the hydraulic system of the machine must be depressurized as
described in the OMM (Chapter 8.2)

Unscrew connections slowly; loose the connection first which is facing away from the person
working on the hose; this avoids sudden pressure relief on the hose connection, if residual
pressure has remained
