3D Printer:

If I had a 3-D printer in my classroom, I would definitely put it to good use. I feel like it’s so
versatile in education. You could use it as a reward system. Thee students could spent their
currency that they’ve earned throughout the class to make something of their choice. Of course,

there would be rules on what they can and cannot make. You could also implement this into
different subjects. If you’re spending a lot of time on a certain object or thing in a subject, you
could 3-D print this object and let the students pass it around.
There are many ways one could be used. I described some ways inside of education up above.
Outside of education, you could use the printer to make a unique gift to give to someone. A lot of
things made from the 3-D printer could be placed on a nightstand or a desk as decoration.
Interactive Whiteboard
How many different touches can the smart board in the NSU library detect
simultaneously?
I never actually tested this, but I would imagine it could only handle 1 at a time. I think touching
it in another spot would stop the current action of whatever it is you were doing with your other
hand.
I feel like the smart board is so widely used in education that it’s almost an essential tool. You
can do so much with it. You can save so much time as a teacher not erasing and using markers.
You can use the smart notebook to upload pre-made templates for different lessons. The students
can come up to the smart board and answer problems. The list goes on and on. You can do so
much.

Chrome books
I didn’t create a document using the Chrome book, but I did pull up some of my old documents
in Google Drive.
What activities could you do as a teacher if all students had Chromebooks and wifi access?
One thing I can think of is using things like Google classroom or other websites to bring all the
students together. For almost every subject, you could conduct Kahoot games with the students
to remember or learn material. In English in high school, we used a website called Edmodo to
learn vocabulary. We were introduced to new vocabulary and were able to view flashcards to
learn the definitions of the words. The students could also all use IXL for math. PowerPoint
presentations and essays through Microsoft Word can be so much easier to do using the mobile
Chromebook as opposed to stationary computers. With the Chrome books, the students could
probably take them home and work on homework. All students may not have a computer at
home, so it’s nice to have one from school to bring home. Right now with the Covid-19 virus, all
schools and colleges in South Dakota have had time off. For students who have the Chrome
books in high school, they can watch videos that the teacher post about assignments and things
that they can do at home. Students having their own Chrome books to use in class have so many
benefits.
