WAR AND PEACE

(Reaction Paper)

Synopsis

Ender’s Game is an intensifying story with many twists and

turns throughout the story line. Ender Wiggin is the third in a

family of child of geniuses. Enders wears a monitor that allows

the heads of the military to see things as Ender does. Ender’s

brother, Peter, and his sister, Valentine also wore this monitor.

Ender got bullied at school and at home by his older brother

Peter. Peter always picks on him and threatens Ender and his

beloved sister Valentine.

When Ender passed his final test down on Earth, he was taken

to a Battle School where he began his training. After series of

difficult times Ender is taken to Command School, where

commanders go to train. Ender wins many simulated battles. On his

last simulation examination he blows up the enemy planet and wins

the battle. Ender learns that he had just blown up the buggers’

planet and that the simulations were all real battles. Ender

knows that he was used but they explained that they needed him, a

child to have the compassion to understand the enemy. At the same

time they needed him to think it was a game in order to be able

to win with such a great loss of life. Ender found the last
bugger pupa, and he made a promise that he would find a new home

for them, where they could start living again.

Reaction and Realization

One of the main themes that I grasped through watching this

was determination and ambition. Although Ender was so young and

experienced so much pressure and stress, he was determined to

fight, Ender was a mastermind with strategy and good ideas, he

was the only one in the world that could have beaten the buggers.

Always fight what you believe in and never give up, something

ender proved great even though this was not the lifestyle that he

had wanted for himself.

Overall, the movie was great. The technologies used in the

visuals are obviously modernized and current as manifested by the

awesome and highly realistic visual effects. Visual edits are

great too. It added intensity to the movie making it interesting

to watch. It also featured many themes and topics such as

childhood, sibling rivalry, tortured minds and bravery which are

of great relevance to students and youth in the contemporary

world.
