TORONTO -- A man wanted for the courtroom killings of two people has sent threatening letters to three members of
Toronto's Sikh community, police say.

Toronto police today con rmed the letters bore the signature of Kuldip Singh Samra, 34, a fugitive since the March 18
fatal shootings.

The Globe and Mail reported today that the letters signed by Samra were postmarked Toronto, although the fugitive
was believed to be hiding in Yuba City, Calif., which has a large Sikh population.

Samra is charged with two counts of rst degree murder for the shooting deaths of Oscaar Fonseca, 51, and Bhupinder
Singh Pannu, 31, in a courtroom of the Supreme Court of Ontario. A third man was injured in the shooting.

The letters threatened retaliation unless their recipients stopped cooperating with the 'feudal mentality' of the Sikh
community, the newspaper said. Among those who received a letter was a known police informant and the editor of a
Punjabi-language newspaper in Toronto.

Some members of the Sikh community are conducting their own search for Samra and have traced him to Reno, Nev.,
the newspaper said.

Sources told the newspaper the letters were bulk-mailed to a supporter of Samra's in Toronto, who mailed them
individually.
