Education and Training

In the light of the Prophets (S.A.W)

Today's era is called advanced, there are innovations happening in life everywhere, Wisdom is at
the forefront of modern explorations, media has become that much advanced that it can do the
work of months and years in minutes. There has also been no shortage of wealth compared to the
past. In fact, today the earth is bursting with gold. The oceans have brought diamonds and pearls
to humanity from their layers. Despite all the reasons and wealth, people still do not have peace.
There is a dissatisfaction that affects everyone. There is a hot wave of oppression everywhere,
Murders and riots are happening these days, new temptations are emerging, selfishness is
becoming common in society, and there is Lack of morality and goodness, molarity and trusts
are disappearing. Which is an evil that should be considered and does not exist in society?
Adultery and alcoholism are common. Interest and the business that include interest has reached
every home, new forms of gambling and betting are being adopted, and genocide has become a
fashion. What would you call this period of time? Period of temptations! The era of sins! The
period of indecency! Era of selfishness! Satanic period! I do not know what name to give to
today’s time? Today’s time is leading towards ignorance, in some ways it has gone beyond that.
Efforts are being made to address and overcome these shortcomings everywhere, and no attempt
seems to be successful. New proposals have failed to come into effect, causing destruction rather
than construction. This is not surprising, that is what it should be, and therefore, only humane
measures are being taken to overcome this dissatisfaction and anxiety and when is it that human
tactics are completely successful?
What needed today is the manuscript and the alchemy used by the Prophet (S.A.W) for the
wandering humanity. It was a version of Allah, which brought light to the humanity trapped in
the darkness. Which made worst the best and who anointed the men. Therefore, knowledge and
training is essential for this purpose. Islam has given great attention to knowledge in the Quran
and Hadith.

Knowledge in the light of the Qur'an

Allah said: ‘O Adam, (now) apprise them of the names of these things.’ So when Adam had told
them the names of those things, (Allah) said: ‘Did I not tell you I know (all) the hidden realities
of the heavens and the earth and also know all that you disclose and all that you conceal?’
O believers! When it is said to you: ‘Open up and make room in your gatherings,’ then open up
and make room. Allah will provide you with ample room. And when it is said: ‘Rise up,’ then
rise up. Allah will raise those in ranks who believe from amongst you and who are given
knowledge. And Allah is Well Aware of the works that you do.
Islam has made human and knowledge compulsory, so it is intended
The Most Compassionate (is He), who (Himself) taught the Qur’an (to the Arab Messenger
[blessings and peace be upon him] or the humans through him).  He alone taught him the art of
expression and communication.

Allah bears witness that none is worthy of worship apart from Him; and the angels and those
who possess knowledge also bear testimony to it (as well as the fact) that He designs and
executes every plan with justice. None is worthy of worship but He. He is Almighty, All-Wise.

So if you yourselves do not know (anything), then ask the People of remembrance.

Say: ‘Can those who have knowledge and those who do not be alike?’

Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on the believers that He raised amongst them (the most
eminent) Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) from amongst themselves, who recites to
them His Revelations, purifies them, and educates them on the Book and Wisdom though, before
that, they were in manifest error.

Knowledge In the light of Hadith

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

The Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him
who treads the path in search of knowledge."

The Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "He who goes forth in search of knowledge is
considered as struggling in the Cause of Allah until he returns."

The Messenger of Allah said, "When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the
understanding of Deen."

The Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "A believer never satisfies doing good until he
reaches Jannah."

The Messenger of Allah(‫ )ﷺ‬said, "He who does not acquire knowledge with the
sole intention of seeking the Pleasure of Allah but for worldly gain, will not smell the fragrance
of Jannah on the Day of Resurrection."

The virtue of knowledge also comes from this fascinating

happening that Abdullah ibn Umar (R.A) has said. That once the Prophet (peace be upon him)
entered the mosque he saw that there were two types of people there some people were busy
worshiping God and some people were involved in the teaching and learning of jurisprudence.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Both are doing well. However, the good of one is what
people are asking from God. It is God's will for them, whether He gives them or not. And the
other kind of people are those who are learning (seeking knowledge) and they are removing
ignorance. In fact, I myself have been sent as a teacher. By saying that you made a place in the
circle where the teaching was taking place.
The way in which the Qur'anic verses and sayings of Prophet (S.A.W) have been used to
highlight the importance of knowledge. In other religions, I do not find it so. That was the
blessing that had been witnessed in a few centuries. Especially in the era of Abbasi and
Andalusian the trust of worldly knowledge came in the hands of Muslims. Muslim scholars,
thinkers, jurists and philosophers performed miracles in the field of knowledge that benefited the
whole world.
