Brief Learning Points (Objectives) : .Rational ,Irrational, Identifying composite numbers, proving
that any no. can be expressed in the form a= bq+ r , 0=<r<b
(PART-A) Main Points of Teacher's Teaching with Examples (where ever required) :-
*Composite Numbers - The the numbers which have more than two factors are called
composite numbers that is , the factors other than 1 and the number itself. ex.4, 6,8,
9,10, ...etc
*Prime Numbers - The numbers which have only two factors namely, 1 and the number itself,
are known as prime numbers example 2 ,3 ,5 , 7 ,11, 13,17,19 etc.
* 1 is neither prime nor composite,. 2 is smallest prime. 4 is smallest composite. The numbers
divisible be 2 are even ex. 2,4,6,8,10,12,....,others are odd numbers ex. 1,3,5,7,9,11,...
*To get terminating decimal ,the denominator should have only 2 and 5 as it's factor. If other
factors like 3,7,11,13 etc as their factors ,then it will be a repeating decimal.because
multiplication of 2 and 5 gives 10,so in the denominator we will have multiples of 10, and
hence easily decimals can be put. The number of 2s and 5s may differ ,we can make them
same by multiplying ,in numerator and denominator which is less.
So the highest power of 2 or 5 will decide ,after how many decimals the number terminates
*The numbers that terminates or repeats are called Rational numbers, Non terminating and
non repeating are irrationals.
