Douglas Dias
Principal, Canton High School
900 Washington Street
Canton, MA 02021

Dear Dr. Dias,

I recently learned on SchoolSpring.com that there is an employment opportunity for a

high school history teacher with Canton High School, and I am highly interested in speaking to
you about this position. My experience in teaching high school history, combined with my
passion for and knowledge of the subject, make me an excellent candidate for this role.

Having spent my entire life in the Massachusetts area surrounded by rich history and
culture, my passion for history began early; inspired by this, I graduated from Arizona State
University in Tempe, Arizona with a bachelors in American history, with a concentration in
secondary education. While still attending college, I took both the English and History MTELs,
and hold both certifications presently. I also completed a semester of special education
observation at Weston Middle School (Weston, Mass.) and a yearlong pre-practicum at Xaverian
Brothers High School (Westwood, Mass.), both which were spent joining the history and social
studies departments, where I earned certifications in SEI and ESL.

In addition to possessing the skills necessary to be an exemplary educator, I am also

extremely organized, highly efficient, and pride myself on my communication skills, both
written and oral. Outside of education, I have spent over a decade working with children, having
taught swimming, Sunday school, and serving as a camp counselor for children between the ages
of three and eighteen, so I am well-versed in working with students of all ages.

With such a lifelong love for history, I believe I can bring the same enthusiasm and
excitement for the subject into the classroom. Being a recent college graduate, the new ideas and
perspectives I bring to the table are new and fresh, and will surely be well-received by students
and coworkers alike. Please see my attached resume, and should you find me a suitable fit for
this position, please contact me at 781-535-4648. I sincerely look forward to hearing for you, and
appreciate your consideration.

Best regards,

Caroline Haidul
