1. From what point of view is Poe’s story told?

Why is this point of view particularly effective for “ The

Tell- Tale Heart”?
The story of Edgar Alan Pо is told from the point of view of internal essence of protagonist, that at certain
external factors exposes to the reader truth essence, person and character of protagonist. This point of view
is especially effective for this story because for a protagonist obvious signs of psychical violation and due to
his internal voice, the story of murder is easier perceived a reader. It is possible to understand from the last
lines of the story, that a man has two essences that live in a head : the first - that accomplished crime and
told about murder, second - sober essence that repents and does not can to allow to live with a load on the
soul and in a head. Exactly it gives the story of yet greater charm.

2. Point to details in the story that identify its speaker as an unreliable narrator.
Having regard to essence that lives in the head of protagonist, it be possible to say, that will entrust to even
one word it does not cost. This stranger, that lives in the mind of man, show itself according from the
beginning of the story and up to completion continues to pay attention on itself. Main factor and important
detail, that deprives reliability of narrator, that he continue to paying attention to his health sense ( 'Why
will you say that I am mad?’). Usually people, that insist on that with them it is all right, accomplish quite not
accordingly. The mad never began to think over such details, to analyse, to prepare, to expect...(told us the
protagonist). An unstable man that is out from a mind by an irritant from outside that wants to get rid of it.
So, main detail of the story "The Tell - Tale Heart", that determines a speaker as unreliable narrator, there is
assurance of readers that the protagonist is not mad and crazy at all.

3. Who is the unnamed narrator? Why does “A Rose For Emily” seem better told from his point of view
than if it were told from the point of view of the main character?
In my opinion, after the read the story "Rose for Emily" unnamed narrator is everybody, who lived with a
main character in a small town. Also, it be possible to say, that narrators are people, rumors, passers-by, be
who, who though one time heard of Emily Grierson. And exactly from this point of view is interesting to read
the story because of outsider are felt into the thirst of interfere in life other. So, they need to know and they
telling they own version of the story. People want to know everything even to the most thin soul details. It
should be noted that exactly this aspect gives interestedly and intrigue in this story.
