KOREAN:

Disclaimer: I didn’t watch all these dramas in one go. I may have
watched them when I was still either in high school and college pa.

Marriage Not Dating (K)

Romance, Comedy
11/10 (would rewatch it again and again)
One of the best romcoms I’ve watched. It’s light-hearted, but filled
with the best lines. It’s about a confirmed bachelor who wants to get
into a pretend relationship with this girl in order to trick his parents to
not get him to date or marry someone. The plot seems overused, but
the chemistry of the whole cast is gold. You can also see the growth of
Han Groo's character.

Delightful Girl Choon Hyang (K)

Romance, Comedy
9/10
It’s one of those old korean dramas, but it never gets old. It’s based
from a famous Korean folk tale, except that it was modernised. It
always gives me feels whenever I watch this, even if we all know how
it's going to end.

Sweet 18 (K)
Romance, Comedy, Family
5/10
The storyline’s pretty sweet, though it gets a bit boring in the end. It's
from the early 2000's. Girl is eighteen and guy is a decade older than
her, but they get stuck in this arranged marriage. And well, they do get
married. But, guy’s ex shows up. Now, apparently, Lee Dong Gun and
Han Ji Hye started dating because of this show. So, you know, the
scenes here are all too real.

Dong-Yi (K)
Historical, Romance
9/10
I love this show over and over again. It's about a palace maid who
ultimately became the king's concubine. I got into this because of my
Mom. HAHAHA HI MOM.

Moon Embraces The Sun (K)

Historical, Romance
9/10
KIM SOO HYUN OPPA HUHU The premise of this show is pretty unique,
but it’s beautiful. It’s a beautiful Korean drama about palace politics.
As kids, girl and crowned prince get engaged to each other. But,
because of palace politics, they try to kill the girl. They think the girl
died, but a woman saves girl and girl lost her memories. Now, as
adults, they meet, but girl has a different identity now. The crowned
prince now king still falls for her. And well, drama ensues.

Mirror Of The Witch (K)

Historical, Romance
7/10
FEELS. F E E L S. This show had me crying. A. Lot. The ending was
very full of feels. And sadness. I had high hopes for this, but it kinda
got draggy in the middle part.

Uncontrollably Fond (K)

Romance, Comedy, Drama
11/10
THIS SHOW BROKE MY HEART BY A MILLION TIMES. I SHOULD’VE
KNOWN. Kim Woo Bin and Bae Suzy have so much chemistry in here.
But, I love Lim Ju Hwan here so much :(( i just wish the brotp between
Kim Woo Bin's and Lim Ju Hwan's characters happened. So, main guy
is this super big actor who meets his first love all over again. Said first
love is the producer of his documentary, but she has changed by a lot.
She has become jaded bc she has a lot of debts ever since her dad
died in a hit and run accident. And oh she has to support her brother.
The premise of the documentary is the actor's bucket list, given he has
a few months to live. Except that it's so true because he has cancer
and he only has a few months left. And yup. That's the story. Ish.

Doctors (K)
Romance, Medical, Drama
8/10
This show starts with full of angst, but it gets lighter by each episode.
Kind of. The chemistry between Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won is
unexpectedly good. The main plot kinda gets forgotten at the middle
part, but they’re able to tie it up near the end. Girl is this rebel type
who gets reformed bc of her grandma. Guy is girl's HS teacher, and
also is a tenant in grandma's place. Grandma dies bc of a med
malpractice. Girl is high on revenge to bring down the doctor (who
killed her grandma and did not even apologize). She becomes a doctor.
And then, in her quest for revenge, she reunites with a hs rival and her
hs teacher.

King 2 Hearts (K)

Romance, Comedy, Action,
10/10
This show’s a bit light-hearted at first, but it gets better after a tragic
event happens at around Episode 7/8. It’s beautiful because it’s all
about patriotism - BAYAN O SARILI. The story is about this South
Korean prince and a North Korean female military officer. They meet
because of this joint team for a military competition. And well, theh
fall in love. And then, there's this sideplot with the princess and her
bodyguard. They're also so cute. CRIED AT THE END THOUGH BC.

My Love From the Stars (K)

Romance, Supernatural, Comedy, Drama
11/10
YOU ARE MY DESTINYYYYY~
One of the best Korean dramas I’ve ever watched. Would rewatch it
over and over again because it was just so good. HUHU THIS WAS THE
FIRST KIM SOO HYUN DRAMA I’VE WATCHED. Whoever thought that a
drama about aliens plus romcom would not work has never seen this.

Heartstrings (K)
Romance, Comedy, Music
7/10
Very light-hearted, but there isn’t a central plot? Or maybe, there’s
one, but it started at the middle already. I actually love the OST
though.

Master’s Sun (K)

Horror, Romance, Comedy, Drama
8/10
The show’s plot line is pretty refreshing, but it’s really scary af. Like
the random ghosts that appear in the drama while you’re watching
alone at night is really scary. Not a single dull moment.
Kill Me, Heal Me (K)
Psychological, Romance
10/10
DID NOT EXPECT THAT PLOT TWIST. It’s a really good drama and it
made me cry a couple of times. It's about this guy who has multiple
personalities. And then, he meets this girl who's a psychologist. And
apparently, she's the key to him getting better.

Princess Hours (K)

Comedy, Romance, Drama
11/10
OKAY THIS WAS ONE OF THE OLD KOREAN DRAMAS THAT WILL TAKE
THE CAKE. Still one of the best Korean dramas from Hallyu wave.
Female commoner gets engaged to the prince of South Korea, except
that prince is still in love with another girl. Enter prince's cousin who
falls for female commoner.

Full House (K)

Comedy, Romance
9/10
Loved this drama. Song Hye Kyo became my favourite here. Yes, it’s
old, but it’s timeless. I, sometimes, wondered why Rain and Song Hye
Kyo didn’t end up with each other. The "contract marriage" drama of
all contract marriage dramas.

Prime Minister and I (K)

Comedy, Romance
4/10
At first, the drama was really good and then, it got draggy in the
middle. And then, I hated the ending. It's about this female journalist
who got into a contract marriage with the prime minister.

Oh My Ghostess (K)
Comedy, Romance, Supernatural, Horror
Like the Master’s Sun, it has these scenes with ghosts randomly
appearing, so don’t watch this alone at night. It's about this low-
esteemed girl who can see and talk to ghosts. She's also training to be
a chef. Enter chef who's a bit douchey but he's a douche with a golden
heart. And then, there's this ghost with an unresolved wish making her
unable to move on to the next world. Said ghost gets stuck inside low-
esteemed girl's body. Chaos ensues. Plus unexpected plot twist.

Moral of the drama: don't trust that friendly, smiling neighbour of

yours. And ugh “CHEF NIM!” JO JUNG SOOK WAS GOLD HERE HAHA

Reply 1997 (K)

Comedy, Romance
9/10
If you’re into Kpop, you should watch this drama. Loved the “Who’s the
husband” premise of this show. It’s about first loves and second
chances.

Reply 1988 (K)

Comedy, Romance, Friendship, Family
10000000/10
This drama was beautiful because even if the episodes are long (1.5
hours), it was worth it. It shelled out every aspect of family and
friendship and I really loved how even the parents were friends with
each other. Each episode almost had me tearing up. Plot twist starts
at Episode 2 and 3, which made the whole drama interesting because
you would not expect who ended with who. AND PARK BO GUM IS <3

Oh My Venus (K)
Comedy, Romance
8/10
It’s about a woman who wanted to lose weight, because she feels that
she got ugly because she got fat. Enter coach-nim who helps her lose
weight. And well, they fall in love blah blah. It’s a light-hearted, feel
good show. If you wanna lose weight, it’s good to watch this show at
the same time.

My Secret Hotel (K)

Romance, Drama, Crime, Mystery
7/10
It’s a fresh plot for Korean dramas, especially with a murder going on
that stops a wedding. Background though, the wedding planner and
the groom were once married. Enter the hotel manager who’s very
interested with the wedding planner. The first drama where I’ve
developed a second lead syndrome <3
Winter Sonata (K)
Romance, Drama.
10/10
THAT KOREAN DRAMA THAT NEVER FAILS TO MAKE ME BAWL EVERY
SINGLE EPISODE. JUST LISTENING TO THE OST MAKES ME CRY BC
BAE YONG JOON. And yes, he's def a bae. It has all the shebang:
amnesia, first loves, unknown family ties, terminal sickness. This is
apparently one of the shows that launched the Hallyu wave. Choi Ji
Woo was just so sad here. I felt really bad for her throughout the whole
series. And Bae Yong Joon. WATCH THIS BECAUSE IT'S A CLASSIC.

Lie To Me (K)
Romance, Comedy
5/10
Watched this for Yoon Eun Hye. The premise of the drama is about this
girl who lied about being in a relationship with this guy. Said guy finds
out and confront her about this. Sooner or later, they decide to go
along with the lie, and the rest happens. Well, I wouldn’t really call it a
good drama. Parang pweds na.

Faith (K)
Romance, Medical, Historical
7/10
Plastic surgeon goes to the past and meets Lee Min Ho, whose
character is a general from the past. Well, they are in awe of her
medical skills especially since it’s very new. Watch it if you like those
historical dramas + Lee Min Ho. The plot kinda gets tangled in the
middle part.

Autumn in My Heart (K)

DRAMA, Romance
7/10
A classic with Song Hye Kyo playing the younger not-sibling. There’s
the typical trope: sibling-not-sibling, cancer, forbidden love, second
lead syndrome, etc. And yup, Won Bin is here <3

Bride of the Century (K)

Romance, Supernatural, Drama, Comedy
9/10
F E E L S. Okay, so the premise of the drama is that there’s this mom
who wants her daughter to marry this rich guy. But said daughter
disappears (?). Have no fear though because there’s a doppelganger of
her daughter. So, they send in doppelganger to rich guy. Rich guy and
doppelganger fall for each other, but then, there’s a twist: there’s this
vengeful (?) ghost who always kills the first bride of the first son of
rich guy’s family. And of course, rich guy is the first son!

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (K)

Romance, Sports, College, Comedy
10/10 [ongoing]
KILIGERZ super light-hearted. So, there’s this girl who’s a bit on the heavy side because she’s a
weightlifter and then she meets her childhood friend who is now a swimmer. The weightlifter
falls for the swimmer’s older brother, but the swimmer is falling for her. Enter swimmer’s crazy
ex-girlfriend.

Goblin (K)
Romance, Supernatural, Drama, Comedy
10/10 [ongoing]
KILIG DIN there’s this guy, who after being betrayed and was killed by the king he served, he
was resurrected and he became an immortal goblin. But, he considers it a curse because he
sees his loved ones die. The only way for him to die is under the goblin’s bride’s hands. Because
he had lived for so long, he has also saved people. One of which was this pregnant woman. She
was supposed to die and the grim reaper was supposed to collect her soul and the unborn
baby’s, too, but because of the goblin’s interference, he wasn’t able to. Nineteen years later,
the unborn baby becomes the goblin’s bride.

WATCH IT FOR THE BROMANCE BETWEEN THE GOBLIN (GONG YOO) AND THE GRIM REAPER
(LEE DONG WOOK) <3
